Once again… totally crappy pics. ::grumbles:: I have GOT to get myself a photo cube and MORE room to photograph!
Anywho… here is the brown wolf… all done and ready for ebay (or offers! :D)
And… an attempt to get the interference colors to show up on her wings…
you can kinda see it..
I’m actually really fond of her…
I hope that the next hazel eyes wolf I paint (an xmas present from my mom…) turns out as nice as she did!
definately liking the interference green with the bronze color
And… as I said… she’ll be up on ebay tomorrow… OR… if you really like her… PM me with an offer.

January 18, 2007 at 4:10 pm #529149I’m drooling.

Hah! Now you see why I do that on all my griffins so far!
I did a wolf about two weeks ago with these colors and interference green on the wings too. Mine looks a little different though.

This and the grey wolf you did are what I strive for. They are both beautiful. How long have you been painting?

Alright you know what… don’t EVEN go there!
Lookit my Nudist colony…
Do you want to know how much $$ I have in Nudist horses right now!? and those are MINE! not the shelf of stuff I’m painting for other people!
The large bugger just to the right of the pink one… is worth nearly $400 alone…
AND I have a Unicorn… a future pegasus… and a couple of others on anotehr shelf!
So yeah… I’ll NEVER get to them all. at least not for a loooooooooong time.
Add to that the PYOs that are slowly collecting…
MAN I need to get cracking!

Thank you Ski.
I’m really glad you like them!
I’ve been painting model horses since… 2002? I think… no I’ve been painting them in PASTELS since 2002 or 2003… but painting model horses period since 1999. ^.^ I started out in acrylics.
MAN I wish my old website wasn’t defunct! I have some seriously OLD horses there. ::grumbles::
But I’ve only really started getting the feeling that I’m GETTING pastels and how to work with them in the last year or so.
Don’t worry Ski! I will do s tutorial on pastels! just need to start a new Wolf!
January 18, 2007 at 5:49 pm #529156LOL! I have spent too much on new paint! I cant switch to pastels, yet, though it sounds like alot of fun! Nudist colony
I call mine “Naked.”

Sure you could… just keep using the acrylics on them too.
I use acrylics to “base coat” the critter before I actually use the pastels.
See the lighter… “almond” color on the wolf? that’s acrylics base coat.
gives me a starting point other than WHITE. ^.^
And pastels are cheep!
one set of them… maybe… $5-$10… will last a good long while.
I’ve been doing this for years… and I think I’ve only actually bought two things of pastels? and that’s horses AND now PYOs.
though you use a lot… it still not that much when they are crushed. ^.^
January 18, 2007 at 6:18 pm #529158This wolf looks great and I love the natural tones. The pastels, as well as your application of them, make his fur look real. Beautiful.
January 18, 2007 at 6:30 pm #529159You should sell some of your finished horses off…and I LOVE those donkey sculpts…where did you get those unpainted?

But I have another copy…
As far as the donkeys go… I have a lot…
which ones are refering to? are they in that pic I posted? or another one?
