Wonderful work as ALWAYS!!
January 21, 2008 at 5:04 pm #648804You do amazing work, Kyrin.
February 10, 2008 at 12:56 am #648805They’re home, and they look WONDERFUL!
Thanks Kyrin for your AMAZING work!I have a challenging one next! Seems my mom’s cats weren’t content with breaking my hatchers; I packed my dragons all away, so they targeted her emerald Sun dragon next. 😥 And he’d been there for YEARS.
Poor guy is shattered, and other than dust he was good before. 🙁February 10, 2008 at 12:57 am #648806The cats need to go down the path of ole yeller >.<
February 10, 2008 at 12:59 am #648807Those cats are destructive!! The hatchers look amazing after their repairs.
What a shame for the sun dragon…I’m sure he’ll look perfect after he’s been repaired too! good luck!
And teach those cats a lesson! 😀My most wanted list: Peacock kitty wizard, carnelian mouse wizard, copper patina frog wizard, autumn leaf poads, pumpkin spice kitties

Poor guy is shattered, and other than dust he was good before. 🙁My husband’s comment on seeing this one was, “Are the cats still alive?” LOL!
OMG, he is really badly broken isn’t he? It just hurts to look at him, but never fear, he will be okay when I am done, I promise.
But oh, owchie!

Sounds like you need a cabinet with doors to display your Windstones.
February 11, 2008 at 12:52 am #648812Or get some push pins and tack them close to the legs… then get some soft thread and tie the legs to the push pin… I had to do it to a breyer horse that I have that likes to fall over. It works! 😉
Just my two cents. 😀
February 11, 2008 at 1:19 am #648813The tile floors here are tough on statuary! The only thing that saved the hatchers from total destruction (since they fell twice as far) is that they hit an overstuffed chair first.
Kitty homicide was a strong temptation lol. I had put my statues in a rather inaccessible place, but apparently not inaccessible enough. Fortunately for them a live critter is worth far more than an inanimate statue.
All my dragons have been packed away into protective custody until my fiance can finish the enclosed cabinet he’s making me. I may not be able to enjoy them really this way, but at least they will remain unharmed until I can be sure of having a safe place for them.February 17, 2008 at 4:07 am #648814Okay, this guy is nearly done with repairs and re-detailing. All of the areas that show white are where the breaks were, as well as shattered nonexistant areas.
A lot of the tail had to be filled in, and the major break towards the base with the most white was actually a full void, with only the fur part of the tail up against the body holding it in place when I glued all the bits together since the tail base was so badly shattered there was nothing to connect it to.
He also suffered 3 broken toes and a knee. His left eyebrow was gone as well as his right ear. Poor guy really got beat to death, he has little wounds everywhere, but slowly I am getting them all. Once I have the details in I will be sanding to make sure they blend into the intact edges, and then I can base coat and repaint. I think he is going to look pretty good when I am done.
My goal here is to make it look like he was never dropped, but I know there will be little things that will show it if you look hard. But I hope that when I am done it will take a sharp eye to notice any flaws.
So far, so good.
I hope you like how he is coming along Pip.

February 17, 2008 at 5:28 am #648815Now it doesn’t hurt as bad to look at. Can’t wait to see him finished. 🙂
February 17, 2008 at 5:29 am #648816I know he’s not done yet but considering how badly broken he was he looks incredible!!! You surely worked your magic on him!!!
My most wanted list: Peacock kitty wizard, carnelian mouse wizard, copper patina frog wizard, autumn leaf poads, pumpkin spice kitties
