Well I finally decided to watch it, man it is like a train wreck, you can’t help but look. But what a depressing story. I didn’t finish it, I saw where it was going and just couldn’t see the rest.

I really like Heath Ledger, but this was one of his movies that I just didn’t care for, and it wasn’t the subject. The movie was kinda disjointed, a lot of time jumps, and the relationships on all counts just didn’t seem believable.

I stopped the film at the point where Jack came to visit and the two went camping. I predict that if I had kept watching Ennis would have come home to an empty house, since his wife saw him kissing Jack on the porch.

Anyway, I figured it would just go downhill from there.

I like happy movies, with happy endings and I just didn’t see this film going anywhere near that.

    Anyone else see this movie?

I thought the movie was great, I think both Heath Ledger and Jake Gyllenhaal did a fantastic job-but you’re right, I prefer a happy ending too. I do have to say that this was probably the most affected I’ve ever been by a movie, after it ended I literally sobbed for hours….it was really depressing 🙁

I didn’t see it. I don’t like dramas or sad movies, and that one wasn’t exactly a romantic comedy. 😀

I thought it was a very well done movie with very beleivable relationships and an even more believable ending. I didnt like the subject and have not watched it since the first time, but it was def worth watching.

I am with stephanie, I only like happy endings, there are very few dramas I like and I think the newest one is “Searching For Bobby Fisher” LMAO.

I have friends who worked on that film. It was shot in the area while I was in my last year at school. I still haven’t watched it, course I don’t like sad movies either,

I haven’t seen it. It’s on my to-see list, though.

The one movie that got me sobbing was the Barbarian Invasions (Les invasions barbares). I was a mess!

I highly recommend it. It was made in Québec.

I haven’t seen Brokeback Mountain yet, but I read the short story before the movie even came out. I have a feeling that it’s a sad ending.

The movie that ripped my heart out was Life Is Beautiful. I cried for hours after it ended. I couldn’t believe it ended the way it did. Of course, I watched it a few months after I lost my father to cancer, so that didn’t help either.

I’ve seen the whole movie. The ending IS very sad. I won’t give it away unless someone asks.
heath ledger was a good actor. I can’t wait to see him in the new batman movie “the dark knight” coming out sometime late summer I believe.
                It’s such a shame that he passed away… 😥

My most wanted list: carnelian mouse wizard, copper patina frog wizard, autumn leaf poads, pumpkin spice kitties

I know. When he passed away, I couldn’t stop thinking about him for weeks. I don’t know why-he would just cross my mind whenever I painted. I also hate sad endings, but I did watch this one all the way through.

I saw Brokeback and while it was a very good movie it depressed the heck out of me. I prefer comedies, action and sci-fi – I don’t really like being depressed by a movie (or a play, for that matter. I don’t get paying $100 for a broadway play to see a tragedy.)

The one thing that annoyed me about the movie and Heath Ledger was there were numerous interview where people (and Heath, too, I think) talked about how courageous it was that he took the role. Hello. Name one actor whose career was damaged by playing a homosexual in recent years. Tom Hanks? Won an Oscar. Nathan Lane. His career did great after The Bird Cage. And there were plenty of others. Maybe 50 years ago it would have been courageous but now I just didn’t think it was a big deal.

You have to remember those guys ONLY did drag for the most part, Well Tom Hanks had to die in front of our eyes too. In Brokeback they actually KISS!! Heaven forbid. I cried too living in the gay male world. I was confused at the ending and why they showed Jake all hppy with the men he was going off with then BAM. I will not reveal it here.
I cried partly knowing how closed minded out world was back then. I just hope that one day our world can be accepting of EVERYONE
I wish people could just live and let live. Sulu, George Taki?? from the originaly Star Trek is FINALLY geting married to his partner of 19 years since they are noe legalizing Gay Marriagein CA but why did he have to wait until he was 70+ years old to ge to do that??
