This little guy began as a mistake…I did his scales first, with the intention of making him another koi ki-rin…but I was overzealous and did this without checking my reference photos. When I did check them, I realized it was another one I should have antiqued light over dark, instead of dark over light the way I did. 😕 Long story short, I did it wrong, and he wasn’t going to be a koi ki-rin anymore. I thought a brindle pattern might go with the color of the scales, so that’s what I tried next….
I have a few opinions on this guy, but I’d rather get some unbiased feedback from you guys before I voice them. Tell me what you think? (the last three pic links are close-ups)

February 23, 2007 at 12:36 am #542700I am not sure what Brindle is, but I think the Ki-rin looks very nice. It doesn’t look like a mistake at all.

February 23, 2007 at 1:42 am #542706i think hes great! i especially love the fur detail around his eyes, top of his head, very delicate and so clean yet over the fur texture! and that totally edible dark nose! i want to chew on it too! wierd! soooo cute! i must get some of those dark blue eyed pyos, they are soooo captivating, but i know when i get one, i won’t want to sell it!
