Glad she’s okay!! It’s called a stent, you were close, a little metal mesh tube, actually very neat! I’m glad they caught it in time!!

thank you so much, I may be quieter today…as I’m just so darn tired. She’s resting at the hospital too..she needs it much more than me. I’ll keep everyone posted if anything else happens. πŸ™‚

funny enough…at the hospital, it’s interesting to listen in to the different conversations going on. Apparently what happend with Olene is a very common occurence nowadays….There were at least 5 other people there just that morning for “heart caths” which is what they did to find the block in Olene….and stints are pretty common too…I was conversating with a nurse and she said one lady was there earlier that day and had 11 stints put in all that morning! 😯 😯 😯 Is this a new thing, or just new to me? I know for us it was fairly frightening, but that’s dealing with a close family member. πŸ™‚

It’s ‘newer’ I guess you could say. A lot more common than most of us realize. The stents help keep arteries open and blood flowing; for those people with hardening of the arteries or blockages of some sort they can be real life savers. Especially if the trouble can be caught before a heart attack or stroke occurs. Wonderful thing, technology… πŸ˜€

true…but it really concerns me for what it says about the condition of our arteries in the first place….is it mostly excersize and eating habits that contribute to that sort of condition? πŸ˜• if so…what does that say about people in general today? It seems like more and more…peoples lives are so cram packed they dont have the time to cook healthy foods, excersize…or just go outside and do things… πŸ˜•
