I just finished reading the wonderful books Lady Firebird sent me for Christmas . When I finish reading a few books I call the Abused Women’s Shelter near me and they are more than happy to come get them. My former neighbor is a social worker at the shelter and she told me the women and children arrive there with nothing but the clothes on their backs and there is nothing for them to do but sit around so they are very grateful to get used books. Most shelters also badly need towels my neighbor told me quite often they don’t even have a clean towel to give them after taking a shower so if you have any old books, towels or clothing you don’t use anymore give you local shelter a call and they will be very happy to come get them. Lady Firebird I thought about keeping the books you sent me but decided somebody else would enjoy reading them as much as I did as they are my favorite type

what a great idea. i’ve been wanting to do some cleaning out since the holidays are long gone now… would love to make sure my stuff goes to someone who could actually use it. thanks for the tip!
