What bothers me, is often things I’ve wanted have gone for less than I have now, but I didn’t have it, and now I have it, and the price has been taken out of reach. It’s unfair!
This has happened to me soooo many times, too. It’s sad and frustrating, but I’ve developed the attitude “It just wasn’t meant for me…something else will come along”. I also try to think about the kind of “OOAK” things my friends have gotten that I don’t have…like cancer at age 36, house burning down and losing everything (both true), etc. Life is a balance. Sometimes you’re the hawk and sometimes you’re the pigeon.
Yeah, but it is still depressing…though granted I don’t want those other things you mentioned.
Well at least Windstone is going to do well, it topped out at $910…I actually bid over $800 on it, in the vain hope that no one had gone that high, alas, they had. Just as well, $800 would have been breaking the bank and my husband would have killed me, but still, I really wanted that dragon.

KyrinWell, you gave it a good shot! We can sit here and hope for less expensive goodies together. I haven’t been able to afford any of them either. 😉

I’m going to see how much I can save up between now and when the next dark Ki-rin comes out, and then fight like hell to get him.
I’d be so happy if I could just have one…just one OOAK…seriously. (One I didn’t paint…just to be specific here)

Thanks for the thought, but compared to the painters they already have, I’m a duffer. But I would love to get my paws on a few of the production sculpts unpainted…it would really make me happy, oh so happy.
I’d love it if the whole line were PYO, but then, protecting compyright, etc would get 10X harder.

I know how you feel. I look at nam’s emperor’s…especialy that Neptune emporer*glances at arlla*
but like I siad, I do not even have a job to buy some of the more affordable pieces that are at set prices! lol.
I keep in mind that there will be more painted, the windstones were around before I started collecting…..and there is always a chance that for what ever reason…..they may end up on ebay. I’m just waiting for the right one to be there at the right time(even if it takes a year or two).
But for now, i’ll be just as happy if a forum member gets it cause then at least I get to see photos! instead of it just disapering*hugs arlla* (more photos hinthint)
December 7, 2007 at 9:52 pm #642946Sorry you didn’t get it, Kyrin. After so many people posted how they didn’t like this one I was shocked to see it go so high. I wouldn’t be surprised if Melody was surprised as well – based on her description this wasn’t her favorite color.
But since it did so well maybe they would consider doing more blue with either just gold accents or with just silver accents? That way this one would still be an OOAK but those of us that really liked it could get a similar piece.
Please, Melody? *puppy dog eyes*

I’m with you. I love the dark blue one, but I know when that one goes up, I don’t have a snowball’s chance in heck of getting it. So I hoped to get this one, since everyone kept saying how they didn’t really like it, someone fibbed.
