Keep super close tabs on the shop, one is chillin out in someone’s cart… the “press to notify” button isn’t back, so one might show up yet
Yeah it looks like I just missed it. 🙁
edit: Is there some delay in how long it takes the site to publish the ‘press to notify’ button? Because if someone’s just letting it lurk in their cart and keeping it from people who want it and can pay… that’s just cruel…
June 11, 2014 at 10:20 pm #913980I didn’t get an announcement either, though I just got this most recent one
Oh well, not like I can afford $250 =P but wanted to make assure you’re not the only ones that didn’t get the email
June 11, 2014 at 10:20 pm #913981I think everyone feels a little let down this time because we didn’t have time to “camp out” the purchase due to the emails… It’s no one’s fault though and I’m sure there will be more! <3
June 11, 2014 at 10:23 pm #913982Bummer. I missed them. Didn’t get the email until 1:30 pm PST even though the post went up at 10:22 am PST. This is the one I’ve been saving for.
June 11, 2014 at 10:24 pm #913983By the way, the “notify me” for restock button seems to be missing for me.

That’s really well put, actually. It’s no one’s fault, but it is a let down.

I saw, very briefly (unless it was an unlikely system error), one go back into the store a while ago. I think that means someone’s probably still got one in their basket somewhere. For me personally, this still sucks because I’m going to have to go to work soon and will probably miss it popping back out again. But for others who are watching and hopeful, maybe it means you still have a chance.
June 11, 2014 at 10:39 pm #913985Aaand there’s the notify button. ;_; Please staffers, say it’s coming back.
June 11, 2014 at 10:41 pm #913986I believe it was Melody who said “we’re going to paint blue morpho everything until our fingers fall off” so I’m sure this isn’t the only batch 😉
Not only that, but the email mentioned this:
“(note: when we have more Lap Dragons in other colors, their prices will be increased from what they were in the past)”Not to get over-excited, but it sounds like they may be getting closer to having more laps in production colours ready? 😮

That would be wonderful. I just really want *this* particular lap dragon. XD Welp. To the classified ads to ask someone if they decide they don’t want it to resell! And also to the hope that you’re right and there will be more. Just not sure, since we’re only now apparently getting past the dreaded horn shortage. :S
June 11, 2014 at 10:50 pm #913989Man, the Secret Keepers I’m sure are going to be just stunning in this theme!
How about it, anyone want to trade a Blue Morpho Secret Keeper for my Peacock one? LOL!

It looks like Susie put the notice in at 10:22 am PT, but for some reason the service didn’t send it until 2:30 pm along with the SK notification.
There were only 10 in this batch I believe. I don’t know what the plan is on making more, but I imagine they probably will since they are casting horns and lap dragons again.
June 11, 2014 at 11:21 pm #913992If there is enough demand they will probably make more. It certainly seems like there is demand for them ^_^ We just need to be patient until they get around to painting Laps in this scheme again. There may be other sculpts in line before them, but I’m sure eventually they will get back around to them. So far Blue Morpho seems to be a huge success so why stop? They can only paint as many at a time as they can, that’s all.

Does anyone know if notification speed failure has been an issue before? Not to sound like I think they should jump the gun and switch to a different third-party notifying service (if there is even another service they could use) just because of one problem, but if this is a regular or semi-regular issue it might be worth considering looking into an alternative. …Or maybe not, it’s not like the statues didn’t sell like hot cakes anyway.

True. I just hope it’s not months down the line. I know they released a second batch of curlies really quick, but they’re a much smaller statue. Regardless, nothing can be done but to wait. I wish patience was a stronger virtue in me. XD

The notice being this delayed is a first as far as I can recall. Usually they come through with no problem.

It happens every once in awhile. The service sends the emails out “sometime” within a 2-hour window normally (I believe), but depending on how many people have signed up and how busy the service is, they may take a little longer to make it through the queue.
I think all mass emailing services are prone to similar issues. I’ve managed much larger sites than Windstone is with dedicated mailing systems and automated messages could still get hung up. It’s just kind of an Internet thing. 🙂 Most services can only send so many emails in a certain time period without getting flagged as a “spammer” bot so they have to limit their outgoing mail volume.
I do think eventually Windstone is hoping to move the service internal through the newsletter function they were trying out, but the newsletters take a bit more time to set up so right now I think it’s easier for Susie to work with the 3rd party service (I think the newsletter may require one of the devs to be involved).
So, long winded response – I apologize. 🙂 Yes, it happens sometimes, but a new service might not solve it. The best long-term solution is making the notifications internal so they don’t have to wait in line for mails to go out, but that hasn’t been possible quite yet.
