July 22, 2010 at 6:28 pm #821818Guess who just got ‘buzzed’ by the Blue Angels flying formations over the house and what makes you think it was us?!?!?!?!? 😮 😮 😮 They are so loud that the house shakes every time they fly over… and there’s no missing them like you do sometimes by trying to follow them by sound – they are literally right on top of us and it’s so way uber cool! There’s an airshow this weekend and we are in ‘prime flight path’ view  They are amazing!

July 22, 2010 at 7:21 pm #821820Hope your Windstones are in a safe place where they won’t get shook off their shelves! 😆 A few years back I met an older gentleman who used to be on the ground crew for the Angels when they did their shows. He said you couldn’t imagined what he saw, felt and heard while he was down there. Some guys couldn’t take it and left. I’ve seem the Angels once in a show and they are something else!
July 22, 2010 at 7:23 pm #821821We are lucky, well, some would say we aren’t, up here in Fargo, ND. They come to our airshow almost every other year, and our apartment building, our corner is one of their sights they turn at. They were so low this last year that I could hear the metal straining from the G-forces. I absolutely love watching them and I never get bored. I should move to their training grounds. 🙂

July 22, 2010 at 11:13 pm #821822😀 In the Blue Angels the C-130 they use (aka “Fat Albert”) is actually a Marine plane with a Marine crew, not Navy. This comes from a Marine wife who is proud of her husband’s Vietnam service as a navigator in a C-130. The first time the Blue Angels came to Grand Junction, CO my husband and son watched the show from under the wing of the #7 plane and we got a tour of “Fat Albert” too. We’ve managed to make it out to every air show they have in town, and yes, they fly over our house as well leaving smoke trails to fall to the street. This last time we missed seeing the C-130 due to them showing a JATO takeoff to a crowd of very special people from the nursing homes, VA hospital and the state home but we enjoyed the show ….AWESOME sights, AWESOME sounds, and AWESOME military men who fly those planes. If you ever get a chance to see them, do so, it is amazing and makes one proud to be an American!!!! 😀 I’ll now get off the soapbox…LOL
July 23, 2010 at 3:44 am #821823*grin* No need to get off the ‘soap box’, just move over a scoosh and I’ll join ya! We had a mega fab day literally lying on the grass with our fingers in our ears and yelling our conversations over the noise while we marveled at the aerobatics being played out right over our heads    They’ve since landed for the evening but we had wonderful time even tho’ our ears are still ‘ringing’ from the roar…

July 23, 2010 at 10:42 pm #821824*grin* we had the Snowbirds (Canadian military flying team) flying over our place a couple of weeks ago at the start of Stampede. They’re loud and by the time you hear them you’ve missed them 🙂
July 24, 2010 at 3:59 am #821825Thats kind of cool though! I got to see one of the Blue Angels, parked on ….*mind blank* I think The Battleship Texas in Corpus Christi one time. Ive got a picture of 13 year old Wolfen standing next to one of those pretty blue planes ^_^
