Black wolf with hawk wings

When I started this one, I was going to do a VERY SIMPLE wolf…black with little accenting and raven’s wings…a real quickie. But I ended up with this! He is black accented with bronze, making him very shiny and hard to photograph, even with my nice new set up! >_< He looks about 500 times better in person, but oh well…He's got a matt finish, except for his nose and claws which are glossed. I have to think of a name for this guy…

Ack! I finished one almost just like this about two weeks ago. x_x I guess it was bound to happen- there are only so many ‘natural’ wolf colors. Mine has a few more wing bands though.

LOL – actually, he reminds me a lot of one of the wolves in a drawing in Vantid’s gallery…I think it’s a pretty intuitive color scheme for these guys. I’m sure yours looks much prettier!! These wings were hell for me to paint…I’m still really unhappy with them… I did start some barring on the primaries, but I took it off halfway through….
