I like this newer version of the color better, personally. It is kinda like a black rainbow. I’m also hoping the eta on these guys isn’t TOO soon… I don’t think I can convince hubby to let me buy one right now.

Admittedly, I’m not super excited about these guys, but I have some other things I’d love, but it’s a no go.

On BEP, the wing and chest patterns are the reverse of BVP. Additionally, BEP lacks the intense violet color that BVP has (BEP has a more subtle, bluer purple).
The new BVP OWs have more green than the the old ones, and also have added gold. They were painted using reference pictures of the BVP lap and proto OW from eBay.Well, yes, the colors are reversed from my BEP Prototype, but the coloration as a whole is still much closer to the BEP than the BVP. This dragon has a lot of bright green on it which is not present in the BVP OWs. Also, My BEP Prototype does have the more intense violet on it. Not as much as this dragon, but it does have it. Personally, I’ve loved the one I have because it has a very nice balance of the violet, blue, and green.
I talked to Pam about this. Apparently they are actually black violet peacock. The painters based them on the old bvp so thats what they are.
Well yeah, except they added more emerald green. The black violet didn’t have emerald green on it, or not much anyway.
Wow Im getting in on this late but OMG SO EXCITING!!!! The BEP old warrior was the first ebay piece I ever won and I still love him. Hes one of the 10 Windstones Josh allowed me to have out in “public” in the living room for all the world to see 😀 This new dragon is beautiful! Well, hes interesting-the color placement is a little weird, but I’ll definatly be getting one if they come to the store. He looks like a hybrid of BEP and BVP. I liked the BEP better for the green.

For being a fan of Windstone since was quite young, I’m arriving on this scene far too late for my own good! (But for the better of my wallet? hah)
I would personally love to see BVP be more like the old original Peacock and BEP more like the current EP … The two now seem too close together, and mixed with the black don’t really pull off the fade of color as well as I think they could (trying to get too much color in too tiny of any area, the color transition is pretty blunt) – Though, don’t get me wrong! I am still a fan of this coloration, I love the contrast of the bright color and the black tones, and recently asked Melody on DeviantART if the BEP was going to become a new coloration for dragons, as I would *love* to see Mother in this color (I’m sitting on $200 of gift cert. waiting for my perfect first dragon to come along!) She gave me a lil heads up on OW before seeing him appear on her dA, ‘n she mentioned that it is a new color they’re going to be coming out with on dragons.. I’m very excited to see which ones come out!
Well it’s a mouthful, but I think BVEP most accurately describes this dragon, since it’s like a BVP and a BEP had a hybrid baby. I dont think BVP should have any green, and I dont think BEP should have any purple(since it makes them TOO similar!). But Im not the artist or the painters….
And as a rule, I think Black Emerald/Grackle is a better color. 😛
