We were discusing in another thread the black gold curlies.

Why are only available direct when the black gold color is still in stores? If they are only available then why didn’t Melody sign the bottom? π
I think it might have something to do with Melody going to Oregon, telling us they were going to be available while she was gone and forgetting to sign them before she left? π but I am just geussing.
Maybe you could answer my questions and let us know. Thanks in advance.

May 7, 2007 at 7:02 pm #571977Well that is what I thought…they were suppose to be for stores, but then wolflodge said they were only available for direct. Does that mean that the stores can’t buy them? I am so confused.
May 7, 2007 at 7:06 pm #571978All I know is, I am a dealer and I was charged retail + tax for mine.
May 7, 2007 at 7:08 pm #571979Me too. Okay, I wasn’t charged tax because I’m not in California. But I was charge retail and shipping. π
May 7, 2007 at 7:13 pm #571980I don’t think they are available to stores yet. I don’t know why.

Sorry! I had answered this but it didn’t post for some reason..or I answered it in another thread which I can’t find now.. anyway…
We want the signed ones to be special. These curlies sell like hotcakes (better than we expected) so we didn’t want to flood the market with signed pieces.
We are charging less for the unsigned ones. (Less work for me -this is good)
The reason we didn’t produce these curlies until we started selling things directly, is because of their small size.
It often costs us as much, or more, to paint a tiny piece as it does a large one (for example; the griffin chicks actually take longer to paint than the adults!). We can’t charge more for small ones! So selling these curlies wholesale was something I thought we couldn’t afford to do. However, they aren’t as hard to paint as I expected, so we will see…
These were originally made to be taper candle holders, but they fell over too easily. I resculpted them to hold a globe.May 9, 2007 at 2:53 pm #571988I like them with the globe. It would have been bad to try to scrape wax drips off of them. π―
