The black chicks are limited production. They won’t be going to stores.

October 19, 2007 at 5:37 pm #627199Sorry for the confusion all…
This was not my baby. I was a surrogate for some really good friends of ours. I didn’t mean to be vague, but sometimes people think surrogacy is evil, so I don’t really advertise the fact.
But we both are doing well and the parents are in heaven.October 19, 2007 at 5:43 pm #627200Phoenix wrote:But we both are doing well and the parents are in heaven.
Good. Congratulations to all!
October 19, 2007 at 6:29 pm #627201Wow, that was an amazingly generous thing to do!I’m honored to know you. The parents are very lucky to have you as a friend.
And as for people thinking it is evil – I’ve always been surprised by what people complain or comment about. I have an adopted niece and 3 other nieces and once or twice people have asked which were my real nieces! 😯 Twits. They are all real. And sometimes I forget she’s adopted because she is so like my sister. People can be idjits.

I agree whole heartedly. That is amazing.
Although, I have never personally heard anyone say anything disparaging about being a surrogate. I find it difficult to see what issues they would have, but I am usually naive about things like that. Regardless, tho I think you did a really wonderful thing.
You get a gold star. 😀

Speaking from the view point of someone that experienced infertility, you have my wholehearted appreciation for such a lovely gift for a friend. There need to be more people in the world like you!twindragonsmum

October 19, 2007 at 10:44 pm #627209LOL, you guys are making me blush 😳
Thanks for the supportive words. It means a lot. I have only had a couple people say some rude things to us. Generally it is the very religious that think along the lines that it’s adultry even though genetically the baby is not mine. I just carried it.
So I get “shy” about it.
But thanks again. You all are great and supportive!October 20, 2007 at 1:57 am #627210OMG! Phoenix, that was not only generous, but brave and selfless. Wow. I can only imagine how hard it was to do; genetics aside, it would still feel like your own child. It takes a special person to be able to do that, you have my admiration.
