How many forum members have birds? It can be any bird, farm fowl included.
I just brought home a green cheek conure yesterday. Between the age of 16 and 22 I bounced around working at different pet stores and I cared for a lot of conures, and I always loved these best. This one was abandoned at a store that I used to work at, and she’s really sweet! I’m going to get her to a birdy vet next week. On visual she’s healthy and likely younger than a year. The former owners claimed she was DNA sexed, but I’ll get it done again to make sure.
I also have a blue parrotlet and 2 black swedish ducks… Any feathered babies are fun.

November 12, 2011 at 6:20 am #862272I have had a Conure very wild loved to bite. Never did have time to train it before I had to give it up when I moved to a place I could not keep it, also Ducks forget breed on them. Standard brown with beautiful colors on side, and one special duck I resecued from a girl that had been given it as a chick for easter (how dumb was that of her boyfriend, it quacked a lot till I got it). I chose a
special name for it: Donald. I know original but it turned out to be a beautiful Peking variety. Large and white with a small black mark on its side just below the wing when folded at its side.November 12, 2011 at 7:01 am #862276Jealous of you duck and chicken owners! One of these days I’ll have a coop of my own but that’s not going to happen so long as I’m apartment-bound, hah! I used to have budgies when I was younger, and loved how they filled the house with happy noises and always tried to imitate the birds outside 🙂
Forever seeking: Blackwatch the raffle Old Warrior, Jennifer Miller's pieces, and GB Baby unis!
November 12, 2011 at 7:38 am #862279I have a green cheek conure named Jinx(he’s 3), whom I love dearly! He is a cuddle bug and would be with me 24/7 if I let him. I taught him to fly to me on command! I’ll post a video of it sometime, it’s pretty cute!
I also have a red lored amazon named Pumpkin(11). Her previous owner lived in NYC and Pumpkin was in a Danimals commerical. She also made an appearance on the show Brotherhood.
Last but not least, is my alexandrine parakeet(7), Pepper. He’s a lovable goofball.I’m also studying falconry and hope to have my red tail hawk by next August (That’s when you can legally trap a young hawk in Alaska). It’s a lot of work, but I’ve been wanting to do it ever since I was young! I love raptors, even have an owl half-sleeve tattoo!
