That is true. Most people just dont want to do that. Good luck to you, though. I hope it does not come to that.
April 22, 2007 at 8:17 pm #564957I never really venture into this community section before but for some reason I did today.
Bluepony, I completely understand how you feel. I run my own business here and when I started I was constantly fearful that I will go bankrupt and not be able to survive financially. And though business is thriving, I still have days when it worries me that eventually it will fall. But over the 5 years I’ve been in business for myself, God has taught me to rely on him. He will always provide.
SPark is right “Pray as if it all depends on God, work as if it all depends on you.” My first years were tough. I had over $200 000 invested and didn’t see any returns after 1 1/2 years. I wanted to quit and hide in my Dad’s basement till the creditors came to get me. But, I remained faithful in believing God would bless me if I continued to work hard and trust in him. I definitely grew as a christian during that time. And then, thanks to God, in the second year business became a success.
I hope you find this encouraging. I don’t mean to get too religious on anyone, but if I depend on God I have to give him credit too.
God bless and I have prayed for you.

Thank you for your prays. I am thinking about showing this thread to hubby, perhaps he will find it encouraging.

Just a thought. Well, two…
Thankfully, hubby and I both have Class A CDL’s, so if push comes to shove, I can drive school bus for $200 a week, and he can drive truck over the road. Suck. But possible.
on another note, has anyone scene Persut of Happyness? The will smith movie? It’s amazing. I have to wonder how things get THAT THAT BAD. I mean, talk aboutthe last dollar. I may be niave, but I wondered how things get THAT bad. really. because our McDonalds is always hiring, and even though you make less doing that that selling a machine, if you don’t sell the machines, you don’t make any money….
Sure did put our situation in persepctive(we watched it last night)

You must only pray for the things you can’t do yourself with a bit of hard work…and should you live a good life it will come back at you three-fold. You are a good hearted person, it will always come back to you.
As far as the non-religious side of it….worse come to worse, you can both flip burgers…it might suck, but you CAN do it. 🙂Agreed. On both counts. It’s hard to live on one income, if you’re lucky enough (able to make enough) to be able to do so, great. But if it comes right down to it, while the hubby it trying to make the new business work, you might have to get a job to fill in the finacial holes.
As for the religious aspects, I leave that to you. I don’t feel it’s my right to preach my beliefs on that. For the sake of conversation though, I would say it should be used as inspiration to put forth the perspiration to financially make it.
I wish your family the best of luck during this time and hope you take advantage of any opportunities come your way.

Our biggest thing is that we both agree we don’t want Chloe in daycare. I do have a good friend who watches her sometimes, but she has 6 of her own that she homeschools 😯 (she’s my hero, those kids also have perfect manors, probably better than mine). But, with school bus, that’s at the most 4 hours a day, so that’s not bad.
I don’t think you’d be preaching at all 😀 I posted the title as it was, in case this did become a big long religious conversation, so that anyone who didn’t feel like reading it didn’t open it. I know plenty of folks don’t want to talk about/read about it. that’s cool.
And, on that note, I need to go find my cell phone, which I’m fiarly sure someone shorter than 3 feet has taken and hidden since mommy always takes it away 🙄
