It must be nice have that kind of money to spend on one figure. One could buy quite a few Windstones for what that horsy went for. I sure know that I would 😈 .
I don’t know about you, but I’d go for a couple SK’s with money like that. 😮
January 4, 2010 at 6:50 pm #799184Ditto! 😀

January 4, 2010 at 8:18 pm #799185Ooh, now that is a pretty Arabian, but not quite something I would go for. Looking at it makes me want to ride though. I once rode a retired rodeo horse. He was really calm. I was so excited that I took off and lost my guide. Oops…he he. 😀

Whoops! 😀
January 5, 2010 at 1:16 am #799187I found him about 2 hours later. 😳 He actually told me that I was like a natural rider. That startled me, since it was my first time riding in my life. It was so much fun.
January 5, 2010 at 6:39 pm #799188Pretty but I can think of better things to spend that kind of money on. Like rent. And food. And Windstones… 😀
January 6, 2010 at 3:54 pm #799189Speaking of model horses I FINALLY got my hands on one of the models that was sculpted after my horses’ sire; Pyt 325 (who has since passed away). I found out about it probably 5 years ago and the model had been LONG sold out (it was very popular) & have been trying to get my hands on one ever since but anytime they came up on ebay they went way out of my price range. I finally found one that I could afford earlier this year due to his front leg being damaged & repaired but still showed a small break line on it so I’m guessing would be bad for model showing. Anyways, he was a weird dun color so I found an artist to repaint him black for me (I actually posted about it on here a few months ago looking for reccomendations) and he just showed up on my doorstep over the holidays.
He’s GORGEOUS. She painted his blue highlights first I think & then layered black over it so they only show through a little; I noticed the highlights even more this morning when I took him into the sunlight to bring to work with me. I like the matte look on models so that was his finish. He has realistic brown eyes with appropriate highlights in them and dark grey hooves (which I think I will add a gloss to; I always had hoof shine on my boy). She even touched up the part where the break in his leg was so it looks even better; you can hardly see it. I took some pictures last night and thought I would share a few! Please forgive the slight bluriness; I’m still learning how to use our new camera.
He was expensive to buy, expensive to have repainted and yes, I’d have loved to spend that money on Windstones too but this was worth it!!

Congrats! 😀
Oh Goody! I have a pyt but it is in bad shape! Got it for almost nothing because of it. Can you later send me pictures of yours…..the front raised leg area….I’ll post mine tonight and you’ll understand why I want to redo him to the original pose. 🙂January 7, 2010 at 12:24 am #799191Congrats!
all the model horses I have are the more common ones…with the exception of a couple that were limited thru breyer or windstone…and I traded for those, which is an advantage of living so near breyerfest! All my coolest pieces are gotten at breyerfest, I love seeing so many people and models in one place, plus drooling over those I could never afford. 😀

Yours is beautiful, Crimson.January 7, 2010 at 10:23 am #799197Greater Basilisk wrote:Yow. That ppor horse has a leg that’s not only broken, but dented! 😮 What color do you want him to be in the end, BDW?
Yours is beautiful, Crimson. He’ll probable end up black but I’m not sure if he will be a blue black or black with some brown in it. Sunburn is nice too.
