😀 Yes they are…it’s shaped like a bell.

Those are beautiful birds. We get woodpeckers that have white spots like those, but red heads.

Is the head entirely red? or just a spot on the back of the head?
The one in my picture is a downy woodpecker, they are fairly small.

It’s a red bellied woodpecker. It’s really more striped than spotted. They’re really pretty.

Those woodpeckers remind me of one I saw the other day. From Star’s link I can say it was a Red-Headed Woodpecker.

We get red-headed, pileated, downy and hairy woodpeckers at the house all the time. We also get flickers that you see now and again.
