Be brave BDW and give it a shot! Can’t hurt and the forum already knows that you’re a winner 😉 ‘sides… isn’t that what friends do? support one another and hold your hand when trying something new? We love you and your talent no matter what! 😀

Ok so I went on the site but did you guys read the rules?
I’m not crazy about the following:“You grant to National Geographic Society and its subsidiaries and licensees (“NGS”) the following rights: a royalty-free, worldwide, perpetual license to display, distribute, reproduce and create derivatives of the Photograph, in whole or in part, without further review or participation from you, in any medium now existing or subsequently developed, in editorial, commercial, promotional and trade uses in connection with NGS Products. An NGS Product is defined as “a product of NGS, a corporate subsidiary, affiliate, joint venturer or licensee of NGS, in any language, which is associated with an NGS trademark and over which NGS has Editorial Control.” For the purposes of this Agreement, “Editorial Control” means the right to review, consult regarding, formulate standards for, or to exercise a veto over the appearance, text, use, or promotion of the product. This license includes the nonexclusive right to make the Photograph available to third parties (i) for library or other research uses through microfiche, microfilm, or any other archival storage and retrieval form, including but not limited to electronic databases and document delivery services; and (ii) for distribution in connection with an NGS press conference or press release.
3. If Your Photograph Is Selected for Print Publication
To qualify for inclusion in National Geographic, you must comply with the following additional requirements: In the event original works of art owned by third parties appear in the Photograph, you must be prepared to provide an Artist Release signed by the third party copyright holder (Download the Artist Release. Acrobat Reader is required to view the download. Get the free plug-in here.). In the event recognizable people appear in your Photograph, you must be prepared to provide the Personal Release signed by those people, authorizing our publication of the Photograph (Download the Personal Release. Acrobat Reader is required to view the download. Get the free plug-in here.). In the event the Photograph is taken on private property, you must be prepared to provide the Location Release signed by the owners of the property, authorizing our publication of the Photograph (Download the Location Release. Acrobat Reader is required to view the download. Get the free plug-in here.).”I also lookked at the other pictures they have on there and I must say this even thoug some of you will disagree, my picture are not good like the others! The quality of the pictures that are submited far surpass mine.

January 19, 2009 at 5:50 am #689963I love the photos of the cardinals and blue jays. We have many pretty songbirds here in Europe, but no cardinals or blue jays.
March 11, 2009 at 4:47 pm #689964March 11, 2009 at 7:22 pm #689965BDW I lurv the top photo! My german g’ma used to tell her grandkids stories about Jack Frost who came and “painted” the windows in the night. You might be interested in a book called “Snowflakes” by Kenneth Libbrecht which features his micro-photography of, what else, snowflakes. The photography is amazing! Kinda like yours 😉

The Haflingers are so cuddly-looking with their winter coats. Our guys are shedding theirs now as it gets warmer. -
