Oh man, that really sucks what happened to him! He was probably really beautiful too. I can’t believe they only put one piece of bubble wrap around him! Some people just don’t have any common sense when it comes to packing something like that. 😡
I really hope you can get it worked out, so you can get a full or partial refund.
January 26, 2008 at 10:19 pm #659612Ouch! When I saw the first picture I figured that it would not be so bad to fix but after siing the second one with all those tiny pieces…ouch…that is going to be hard. You might have to rescuplt alot of it. Good luck and post pictures! 😀
January 26, 2008 at 10:32 pm #659613Golly Wolfen those pictures are enough to make you cry I don’t think I have ever seen one smashed up that badly – you can’t even call that one broken it is so bad. I hope you get the seller to either refund your money or UPS covered the damage
January 27, 2008 at 1:45 am #659614I’d:
1. See if the seller is willing to work with you. Try and get a refund directly. That’s inexcusable (his shipping/packing that is).
If they won’t:
2. File a Paypal claim, keep all your records and correspondences with the seller in case you need them.
I wouldn’t try and get a refund from UPS unless you absolutely have to. You are very unlikely to get the full insurance amount back (if it was even insured for the correct amount!) due to improper packing. Dave from Astral Castle knows all about this- UPS has strange packing rules and this was obviously not packed properly. They will probably deny a claim in this particular case.

January 28, 2008 at 7:58 am #659616Oh! I’m so sorry, Wolfen. 😥 The poor Spectral. Good luck getting your money back.
January 28, 2008 at 9:44 am #659617I’m so sorry to see this! Ack!
For anyone else who needs to request specific packing instructions, here is the packing tutorial addy:
January 30, 2008 at 2:20 pm #659618let us know how everything turns out, it just hurts to look at this poor guy. 😥
February 4, 2008 at 7:09 pm #659619Oy vey. The seller insists that the broken dragon isnt his fault and isn’t his problem. I have a feeling I’m going to be out a lot of money.
February 4, 2008 at 7:17 pm #659620Oh man. I’m sorry to hear that.

👿 Man some sellers really don’t care once they have your money! Because the dragon was not packaged properly he is responsible! I’m sure UPS would say he was not packaged properly and that they are not responsible.
Did you keep proof of the note you sent him about double boxing and packaging it properly? What about the box it came in? You will need that as proof too for your claim in needed.
Wishing you luck, I hope you get a good refund.PS: something that people don’t think about: when you take pictures of the box, make sure you also show the label from who it comes from with a big part of the box. that way they can’t say it is not their box.
February 4, 2008 at 7:35 pm #659622File a claim at PayPal and see if you can get your money back through them.

I have filed a claim with Paypal, but doesn’t he need to acknowledge it and act on it as well? If he doesn’t feel it is his fault, won’t that make it near impossible to get a refund through paypal?

If he doesn’t make a reply, contact Paypal customer service. They’ll probably ask for proof that you’ve contacted him and that he won’t respond or photos of the packing and damage. If they decide in your favour, they can make a transfer directly from his account to yours.
February 4, 2008 at 10:46 pm #659625If you do manage to get a refund, I may have found a place that has another emerald spectral. I’m buying a dragon from them; if it goes well, I can double check and let you know where it is.
(I had to send a MO, so until the dragon is here, I don’t know that the shop was on the up and up) -
