August 19, 2009 at 2:30 pm #780368Me boyohs first day of the new school year and I’m sorta ambivalent about it… Sean now stands at 5′ 7″ and Ethan is close behind. A few more inches and they’ll have caught up with me 😮 I’m sure I’ll get over the blehs of them being gone but I really do miss them 😳 😳 😳

August 19, 2009 at 3:02 pm #780369Aww! Gavin starts VPK next Monday. We get to meet the teacher Friday. He’s so ready for school…he keeps asking “Mommy can we go to school now?” I’m anxious/excited/nervous about it.
August 19, 2009 at 7:07 pm #780370My daughter has been SOooo ready for school to start; she’s been bored silly and lonely here. I’ll be glad also so that she doesn’t inflict her state on me any more! She got really lucky this week, though, and was invited to go with a friend’s family to Sanibel Island (am so terribly jealous! lol) School starts next week here so that works out well.
August 20, 2009 at 12:17 am #780371Is it that time of year already??
TDM Your boyohs are already taller than I am
August 20, 2009 at 12:34 am #780372The scary thing is that they are only 13 😮 Keeping them in shoes and jeans is getting difficult – they seem to outgrow shoes over night 😮 🙄

August 20, 2009 at 12:09 pm #780373I kind of wish that Gavin would start outgrowing some of his clothes. He’s such a small fry when compared to other kids his age. He’ll be starting preschool still wearing size 3T.
August 20, 2009 at 12:51 pm #780374My Ethan hit his big growth spurt at 14-15. He grew 13 inches in a year 😮 I know exactly what you mean about keeping them in shoes and clothes. Especially pants! He is now 17 and 6’1″. Still growing too. Since I’m only 4’11” he towers over me 😀
August 20, 2009 at 12:52 pm #780375Pegasi, my boy started kindergarten wearing 3T, he is in grade 5 this year, and I have only just stopped buying him 6x, he is 10 and barely fits an 8.
August 21, 2009 at 5:51 pm #780376*tear* time flies by. 😥
August 21, 2009 at 11:58 pm #780377As a teacher of 7th graders, I have to say that I could have used another few weeks of summer! 😆 And I’m sure they could have, too. The first day they’re all so quiet! It’s unnerving. 😆 But…they’re staring to be disruptive now that the second week is over. 😉
I’m getting back into the swing of things, though!
I love my job. The kids can always make me laugh. Like the student who wandered down the hallway on Monday singing “North to Alaska”. No explanation given…and none needed, really, other than he’s a 7th grade boy.
😀
August 24, 2009 at 3:05 pm #780378Dropped Gavin off at school this morning. House is so quiet without him in it to make noise.
August 24, 2009 at 3:39 pm #780379Our house feels very ‘echo-y’ I just sorta rattle around… 😳

August 24, 2009 at 3:58 pm #780380That’s how my house is too. I need to figure out something to do so I don’t spend every minute he’s gone online. Actually I know some things I need to do, just need to get off my butt and do them.
August 24, 2009 at 9:08 pm #780381I just bought Chinook all the stuff on her list, along with a new school bag. Had to have purple in there! And bonus, the calculator is purple too.
First day of her 5th grade is Sept. 2nd.
Read my books! Volume 1 and 2 of A Dragon Medley are available now.
