Many hugs! I think the other advice here is worth following, things can seem very overwhelming until you write it down… and then once that’s done, you can see about getting help of some kind.
I’ve done that–something happens and I feel like my whole world is falling apart and then I write it down. After a while I look at it and it doesn’t seem as bad and I can start to think my way out of it. There is a way for you to get relief and the help your parents will need. I feel that–but we’re here for you to vent if you need to.
August 14, 2009 at 3:06 am #779758I am so sorry to hear about your dad! Cherisherself did have some great advice! I can relate a little to what you are going through, and it can be so agonizing. *hugs*

August 16, 2009 at 9:24 pm #779761Hello everyone. Sorry I haven’t written anything until today, but where I was staying had no internet access. I also want to thank everyone for thier prayers and kindness. I appreciate all of it. Well – my dad’s surgery went very well. He ended up having a triple bybass. He’s doing okay – he had an incident today with heart palpitations. The doctors were able to treat him successfuly and apparently it’s not uncommon to have that occur after this surgery. I saw him today, and he looked so weak and sick it tore me up inside. I know he has a long recovery ahead of him. It’s hard to feel ‘good’ about the situation right now. He’s not out of the woods yet – but he’s better of for having the surgery. I’m still in a emotional fog right now, but I still hoping for the best.
Despite thier isolation, my parents have alot of friends and family ( including my sister and I) who have offered to help. This helps alleviate some of my overwhelment I had earlier this week. My biggest concern still is if something happens while my dad is at home. The closest hospital is an hour away. Once he’s home, he won’t have access to immidate care if he needs it. But what will be will be and I know things will work themselves out. He’s not going home untill Wednesday or Thursday, and it may be even later, depending on his condition.
I’ll be returning to my parents in about a week to help out, and we’ll see how that plays out.
I need to remember to post some pics of my parents animals. I’m sure some of us would get a kick out of that 😀 . Thanks again so much everyone. I’ll make sure to you posted as things happen.August 16, 2009 at 11:46 pm #779762I’m so glad his surgery went well – I wish him a speedy recovery. But don’t forget to take care yourself as well – when you are worried about someone else it’s easy to neglect your own health! I’ll continue to pray for him and send healing thoughts his way.
