Ok, here are pictures!!
Here are some decent ones of me! I was so hot that my face was shiny and red:
Everyone was playing a game, but this is everyone that came:
This is who came from KC’s side of the family (In front: His brother Lance and Sister-in-law Carol, and the back: Uncle David and Aunt Laurie):
My mom (the blonde) and “other mom” (JoAnne):
You can see my belly here:
The best grandma in the world and her brother (Lec)and sister-in-law (Doris):
So this is only a few of the pictures, but the rest is of people smiling at the camera!
I hope you enjoy!March 7, 2008 at 4:01 am #674527eaglefeather831 wrote:DragonMistress wrote:eaglefeather831 wrote:I know…does anybody want to go through labor for me? So I don’t have to! 😆

March 7, 2008 at 7:04 am #674528Can I ask what a Boppy is?? And I’m glad you had a good time.
March 7, 2008 at 8:53 am #674529If you’re not planning on Breast feeding they’re not so neccessary, but a Bumbo seat for when they’re starting to si is definitly a good thing, if not 2, one for around the home and one for dragging along with you out into the world so Baby’s not sitting on the ground and cause the little wiggle worms will keep rearanging the pillows/cushions/blankets you use to prop ’em up with
Link to Boppys, Bumbo’s and the one we actually got Khym “BebePod” Aka Bumbo that don’t work with the Bumbo accessories, and for us was a wee bit cheaper. Though now that I’ve seen it wish we had picked him up the “Plus” model in Red Watermelon……..

I do plan on breastfeeding (hopefully it will work out as I see it, so it’s good to know a boppy will help! I have never heard of a Bebepod.
March 7, 2008 at 9:02 pm #674531Okay, thanks. I know my sister-in-law has one.
March 8, 2008 at 10:59 pm #674532Just a reminder that if you get a Bumbo or BebePod Don’t leave your baby on any raised surface such as a table or chair unattended. Since some little ones can get themselves out or at the least over. Think “Stationary Walker” (Even though it’s entirely for sitting) and you should do well. We even use Khyms as a “Booster seat” when wherever we are doesn’t have any conventional Boosters/Highchairs, but don’t leave him alone!! Obviously they put this warning on the side because some fool did, and now have injured children!! 😯
March 9, 2008 at 9:13 pm #674533They actually had a recall on the Bumbo seats because people where leaving children in them on chairs and such. They would fall off onto the floor and get seriously injured so thats what forced the recall. You don’t NEED a Boppy but trust me after your baby is latched on for 15 minutes or longer your arm will be killing you and you will wish you had one. I’ve found myself feeding Alyssa without the Boppy (usually when we are out since I can’t bring it with me) and by the time she is done my arm is so sore. I have the bare naked Boppy with two different slip covers. It comes in handy when she spits up on one I can just switch the covers. I don’t know if you plan on having the baby in your room for the first few months (its so much easier for night time feedings). I have a bassinet next to the bed so all I have to do is reach in and grab her at the first signs of hunger. I wish I would have gotten a bassinet with the fold down sides so I could see her easier. The one I have now I have to sit up in bed to look in and see her. Also if you are going to breastfeed it is so much easier to lay them in bed next to you and feed them that way. You don’t have to hold them and its just so much more relaxing. I have to be careful not to fall asleep in that position at night because it is that relaxing. I usually turn the tv on and find something to watch until she is done eating then I put her back in the bassinet so she can fall back asleep. Oh and Maternity sells some nice nursing tops so when you feed in public you don’t have to show off your belly. I’m still trying to master the nurse in public without putting on a show but the nursing shirts help.
March 9, 2008 at 9:29 pm #674534When I was trying to Nurse Khym just could not get into a good position when we were lying down, but that may have had more to do with him learning to latch and being so big already. 😕
March 9, 2008 at 10:17 pm #674535I was lucky that Alyssa knew how to latch right from the get go. Right after I delivered the nurse came in to help me feed her. She showed me how to hold her then right as I was putting her poor little face up to my breast the nurse took the back of my hand and just rammed her little face right into my boob! 😯 I was like “ok that was rough”. Every nurse that came in my room did the same thing. I guess she figured she better do it right the first time or she is gonna get her face smashed into some booby 😆
March 9, 2008 at 10:31 pm #674536Khym’s first 24-48 hours were on Bottle, but he had a common Breast Latch Problem, and the nurses were awed that he had it on the Bottle, he’d roof his Tongue, so the Nipple would go under instead of on. Then he got sick and we changed our minds onto Breast for several reasons. He had no problem latching on when I was sitting up, it was in any other position, and man was he strong!!! 😯 So he got EBM instead, and then we discovered it made him sick, so back to formula for him!!
March 10, 2008 at 12:10 am #674537I’m glad you had a great baby shower, Eaglefeathers!
For breastfeeding, I love the sling, though not everybody does. I also really like nursing tops (like from Motherwear.com). Eagle or purpledoggy, if either of you are interested, I have an extra sling and a few nursing tops that I could send (at least you could see if you like them).March 10, 2008 at 12:25 am #674538I’ve never tried the sling, how does that work?
March 10, 2008 at 1:14 am #674539There are different types of slings, but essentially, it’s a loop of cloth that hangs on one shoulder and the baby sits in the middle. Hmm… not a great description.
Here is a pic of Ryan in one of my slings. (I have 3 and use 2 of them all the time… this blue one is my favorite)With this kind (a Maya wrap), you can cinch it tighter to fit a variety of sizes (me and my husband) or you can have it loose or tight…
It also has a long tail that you can use as a built-in blanket for descreet nursing. (It also has a pocket for a diaper, keys, whatever)The baby bjorn is another sling like the maya wrap, but with padding. It’s also a bit limited in how far you can cinch it.
Finally, the third type of sling I have is New Native Baby and it’s like a pocket. This is one set size, but the pocket doesn’t allow the chance of a baby slipping out.
The sling is just a baby carrier, but they’re so easy to nurse in, and carry the baby around, and easy to put on and slip off without disturbing a sleeping baby (very nice). Also, as the kids get bigger, the maya wrap and native baby slings can be used to make it easier to carry a toddler around.
