Yikes 😯 I’ve never had a cat that wasn’t fixed, when I got Callie I picked her up at her old home and took her straight to the vet to be fixed, she came home for the first time the day after! I hope Mouse “feels better” soon! 😳

I just had a though…
Could you imagine if us human female were like female cats? 😯OH That would SUCK! LOL 😆
July 19, 2008 at 11:43 pm #723917Well out kitty, she never went into heat, despite almost a month between when we got her and when she got fixed (we didn’t want to wait, but she got an upper respiratory infection, and we had to wait for her to get over it).
At least she didn’t howl at us. 🙄 That would be… less then pleasant I’m assuming.
July 22, 2008 at 12:06 am #723918I am about to have kittens since I am going to toss her butt outside!!!!!!!!!! She is peeing on things that she Knows NOT TO… AGGGGHHHHHH!
July 22, 2008 at 12:22 am #723919Wow, I tried to google ways of possibly calming her down… 😯 I don’t recommend it! I am sorry she’s being such a booger about peeing all over everything!
July 22, 2008 at 12:32 am #723920One more thing, the fun part of cats is that they continue to go into heat every 2-3 weeks until they are bred or spayed. So watch her closely and get her done ASAP.
July 22, 2008 at 12:33 am #723921Don’t let her out!!! Just wait it out, it’ll usually last about a week. Put her in the bathroom while you’re out if you’re worried about her christening the furniture…and remember, this is as agonizingly frustrating for her as it is for you.
When my girl first went into heat, she didn’t yell so much, just backed up against everyone and cooed at us…and our neutered tom was the light of her world, lol. Sometimes we could calm her down by brushing her, though, uh, I’m pretty sure it’s because she got off on it. ^_^;; (the teeth of a comb on the back of one’s neck is apparently quite the turn on..).
July 22, 2008 at 12:58 am #723922when we got sophie she wasn’t spayed. She ended up going into heat maybe 2 weeks after we got her and she was aweful! She didn’t pee on anything thank goodness, but she was very chatty and ‘offered’ every moving thing in the house a ‘chance’. Even the flashing lights on the xmas tree got an invite. Before her appointment, she was even sensative to noises. it was pitiful…..funny…..maddening….poor poor kitty!
The vet we went to said the heat will not end until either getting spayed or pregnant. Sophie was done while she was in heat and was fine. Tho she was pissed off at the vet and wouldn’t let the techs near her. I had to go in the back and get her out of their cage and put her in our crate.
July 22, 2008 at 2:58 am #723923The cat staying in heat until she is spayed or pregnant is not true. I’ve had cats in heat before, and they always get over it. It’s like us having a period. We don’t have the period until we have a hysterectomy or get pregnant. That’s ridiculous.
It may seem like forever, but she’ll get over it. And DON’T get her fixed if she’s in heat. It is not a good idea. Risky!
July 22, 2008 at 3:12 am #723924Oh she won’t get fixed until she is done but I keep walking through the house and finding MORE stuff she has “marked”…. She isn’t OUTSIDE… she should know better not to do it. She tried doing it in my bedroom and I walked her all the way to the cat box and she did her buisness in there. PC is fixed yet trys… its kinda comical… and pretty sad at the same time. Its driving me nuts!
