My female kitty is in heat and I think this is her first time… OR this time is BAD… 😯 Pour Thing… 🙁
Its been so long since I have had a female kitty… how long is this going to last?
I am going to call the vet Monday morning to see if they will take payments on getting her fixed!!!! She is an indoor kitty and I don’t want kittens… our male kitty is fixed, yet trying to help her out… Talk about confusing!
Is it like a week of this loving yet pissyness attitude from my poor kitty???
July 19, 2008 at 6:48 pm #496213July 19, 2008 at 7:02 pm #723902i remember our female cat when she first went into heat . Little creep would go into the tub and scream , the aucustics made it go all through the apartment driving us crazy for days on end .I believ that Satan himself sent her to our house , she was like hell on wheels destroying everything and if you tried to stop her she would dart off to destroy somthing else or bite you . Needless to say she found a new home
July 19, 2008 at 7:14 pm #723903I dont know how long it lasts. There are free or very low cost clinics that can help get her fixed. I dont know if they have them in your area, but you may want to look into it. 🙂
July 19, 2008 at 7:34 pm #723904Sorry, no help from me… My family has only owned ONE female animal (out of the millions of pets we’ve had). A cat my dad found (the year I was born) and after she got pregnant the first time, she was fixed.
Wiki: “Even within species significant variability can be observed, thus cats may undergo an estrous cycle of 3 to 7 weeks. Domestication can affect estrous cycles due to changes in the environment.”

I doubt that there are free clinics here but there might be a low cost one for getting your pets fixed. I need a newspaper to find the ad. I know I have seen the ad there before in the past, but that doesn’t mean that its there now. I’ll find away to get it done. Thanks for the reminder! 😉

“An intact queen may also spray urine, and she’ll yowl her yearnings loudly and nonstop when she’s in heat, which can be as often as every other week for 7 to 10 days at a time. This yowling will drive you and your neighbors to distraction and bring a gang of spraying, brawling suitors to her (your!) door.”

Yay. 😐 Great… I am washing clothes that she…um… yeah. Crap.
July 19, 2008 at 8:46 pm #723908If you can’t locate a free or low-cost vet in your area try calling the locl humane society somebody there should be able to help you.
Be careful about having it done while she is in heat because I adoped a female dog that went into heat two days after I got her and I asked a vet if she could be spayed during that time and he said it didn’t matter. He lost her on the operating table. I know that doesn’t happen very often and I also didn’t know the vet he was recommended by the lady I got the dog from. I just thought I would tell you.
July 19, 2008 at 8:54 pm #723909Don’t have your cat spayed while she’s in heat!! It’s a bad idea. Wait until she’s done. I know it’s icky, and she’s a crab. But wait. It will be better once she’s fixed.
July 19, 2008 at 8:57 pm #723910I didn’t think a vet would spay an animal when they were in heat? 😯 That’s a shame about your dog, darjeb. 🙁
July 19, 2008 at 9:01 pm #723911Yeah, that is one thing that does concern me alot. If she can be fixed while IN heat.
We got Mouse as a running buddy for PC. He was so lonely… he would try to play with us, tag and such. So I got a female kitty so that he “fighting” wouldn’t happen. PC was almost 2 years old and already fixed but I thought bringing in another male cat even as a kitten would cause the territoryal stuff.
Now its been over a year since we have had her and this is the first time I have seen her do this!
Mouse and PC are buds!
PC is the orange tabby and Mouse is the grey tabby. 🙂July 19, 2008 at 9:12 pm #723912I think I’ll wait until she is done with the “HEY BABY” rutine before I get her fixed. Even though she is going to drive us NUTS and pee in places where she isn’t suppost to. 🙁 *sighs*
July 19, 2008 at 9:13 pm #723913Poor kitty. My female would last for about a week of crying then we would get a small break but it would start all over again…I had her fixed.
I just had a though…
Could you imagine if us human female were like female cats? 😯July 19, 2008 at 9:26 pm #723914Blackdesertwind wrote:I just had a though…
