Hi Melody, I was wondering if there may be any future plans (even far, far future! I can be patient for him!) for this guy?
I love the griffins, particularly the males, but my heart jumped & jaw dropped when I saw Frozendragon’s pic of this one. He’s my favorite, even over Nam’s (I never thought I’d say that, esp over the Lab male!) & all the other test paints I’ve seen. I’ve only done a couple little squeaks before, but this is now officially my #1 :squeak: puhleeeeeeeeez??This one was a test paint that Olympia did. These crazy test paints that folks take photos of around our shop aren’t meant to be for sale as they are, or even meant for anyone to see at all! We don’t worry about how they turn out,we paint them any way we feel like it, then if there is a nice part of one, or an effect we like, we may use it on future pieces. I like the “worked” look of the wings on this griffin, but not the specific colors. I like the rich golden eagle color of the face, but it doesn’t go with the body or the wings very well.. so this griffin as a whole will never be a “color”. I do appreciate your comments on these though!

Awww… well, that’s no fun. (It is really cool to get to see some of them though)
I do understand why it wouldn’t really be considered as anything more than a test. I’m a bit strange sometimes in what I fall in love with (in high school, I used to wear a really loud orange Hawaiian shirt with a lavender tie… and I still like the look 9 yrs later )
But if you ever decide to sell some test paints: I’d really like this one!August 27, 2007 at 6:46 pm #612007I like the face and the wings.

August 27, 2007 at 8:43 pm #612009Well, as they say, one person’s test paint that wasn’t supposed to be seen is another person’s treasure! 😆 I think it’s really cool that no matter what you paint (and how ugly you think it is), somebody here would love to have it. 😀
