Robin Williams died today at 63. Ususally I’m not all into celebrity affairs, but this makes me really sad. Also, it’s not confirmed, but it sounds as if he took his own life which is even more tragic.

So sad! :(( I’ve followed Robin Williams since “Mork & Mindy” and have enjoyed all his many talents (drama to comedy). He has been fighting depression his whole life – its a shame he finally lost to it. When I heard “The Crazy Ones” was cancelled, I wondered how he would take it (I thought it was a good show and was very sorry to see it go).

Rest in Peace, Robin Williams, and thanks for all the joy you’ve given me.

I heard that on the news too and it’s sad. I think he has said in the past his comedy was a way of covering up a lot of struggles in his life. It’s too bad.

I was in the middle of a tank change when my father told me. I am just stunned. We lost a legend today that brought millions of smiles to billions of faces.

          Finding happiness again.

What? Oh my gosh. I’m in shock, Robin Williams had such a big personality. Wow. 🙁

I just heard about this too. It’s really depressing. He was a good man. I feel bad for his daughter. It’s really shocking…he’s the same age as MY dad. We lost someone really special today.

I am at a loss of words over the death of Robin Williams. Many of his movies were a big part of my youth while I was growing up. I’ll never forget going to see “Mrs. Doubtfire” with my two best friends or watching “What Dream May Come” with my Mom on opening day. I’m left in a state of shocking over this news, I keep hoping it is a prank but sadly it is all to real. Celebrity deaths don’t really effect me, but this one has left me heartbroken. RIP Robin Williams, you will be missed…

This is just a great sadness. I’m not a celebrity person, but he was just so talented and genuinely a nice guy. I always wished I was related to him in some way and he does remind me a lot of my dad (who looks kind of similar to him, and they have a similar sense of humor *hehe). Saw him live a few years ago and he was just amazing on the spot picking on some people in the audience, including a local politician with something that was recent from that day… totally on the ball. He’s dealt with alcoholism and depression on and off for years. There are a few more movies coming out in the next year he was in, so I don’t think one show being cancelled was the tipping point. The depression has been there on and off for years. This time however, the demons won. Such a talent the world has lost. This one truly makes me sad. 🙁 Bangarang.

Very very sad news…. Robin Williams was an amazing actor and brought so much happiness to this world. Its so sad knowing that while he was making others laugh, that he himself was suffering inside. I can still hear him saying “Gooooood Morning Vietnam !!”…..

His show “Mork and Mindy” was the source of many a joke towards me as well, with people always asking me where Mork was… since my name is Mindy… not that I minded really, lol. “Nanu Nanu” …. 🙁

He will be sadly missed by many many people. He will forever live on in the hearts of his fans, as people will continue to laugh and smile at his movies and TV shows, for centuries to come.

                RIP Robin Williams 🙁

This IS such a huge loss of a truly great Comedic Genius for the World… and when we need it more than ever. Heard that there was a ‘Mrs Doubtfire 2’ possibly in the works, too. Robin was so great in everything he did.

RIP, and I hope he’s finally found Peace – Robin Williams will really be missed. 🙁

I agree so much with everything said here. Celebrity deaths, although shocking, don’t really have much of an affect on me. (it’s not as if I knew them personally, you know?) but I find myself thinking about ways Robin Williams randomly effecting my life with his wonderful humor every few hours whether I’m at home or work. Just pops in there. Not only is the whole thing is just so sad… but I find myself wondering, what kind of world are we living in when a man like Robin Williams can’t deal. The whole concept blows my mind. I still can’t believe it’s real.

I almost cold cocked a girl in our breakroom when she was like “Who’s Robin Williams?” as it was a major topic of discussion through the workplace lastnight. Someome missed out on something in their life if you don’t know who Robin Williams is.

This is how I’ve been feeling about him too. The last time I was hit this hard by a celebrity death was when John Denver died. I was dealing with depression at the time and his music was what I turned to most when I was down. I was devastated by the news and the fact that there would be no new music from him. I feel pretty much the same way about the gaping hole that Robin has left in the lives of people that he touched. It’s hard to believe he’s gone.

Well said. Losing Robin really hit me hard. I’ve known about his struggles with depression for a long time and always looked up to him as a role model for coping with depression.

I can’t even find the words to express how sad this is or how much I feel for his family. 🙁

People who cope with lifelong, chronic depression get good at hiding it, putting on the brave face. I hope that this gives people a reminder to cherish Robin’s memory and body of amazing work, and also to reach out to the people still around, who are still trying to fight the battle.

We lost a respected soldier with Robin, along with so much more. <3

I watched The Birdcage, and Patch Adams, so far. 🙂 What movies have you guys watched to remember him? What's your favorite?

I haven’t watched any recently (except for the first episode of Mork and Mindy). But my favorite movies are Mrs. Doubtfire and The Birdcage.

                            Ah…he will be sorely missed.
