Sorry, Snap….I wasn’t complaining, just suggesting hopefully. Sorry I didn’t recall the “lengthy discussion”, but I am old and often can’t remember what I had for lunch yesterday. 😉 Stop back again and talk with us sometime when you aren’t so mad at us.

I was quoting Mimitrek, not you. 😉
December 30, 2007 at 10:26 pm #650969Well you still sounded mad and we would still like to see the huggable you around sometime. Your name gets brought up every once in a while….like a long lost pal.
December 30, 2007 at 10:32 pm #650970AnonymousAnyways I talked to John and we’re going to work something out, it will just take some coding time.
Now I just have to deal with douchebags at Verizon and try to get my IP’s off the blacklist.
Failing that, I’ll have to move all the servers to new IP addresses. Weeeeee 😡
December 30, 2007 at 10:41 pm #650971Believe it or not, we do miss you. As lamorte says, it would be nice if you could pop in to chat sometime when there isn’t a crisis.
December 30, 2007 at 10:44 pm #650972That should fall in somewhere around hauling that 2 ton desk and setting it up again… 😛
Good to see you around again though! Hope you and yours had a Merry Christmas Snap! 😀
I used that feature on another forum, but not here that I know of…I will make sure I don’t though. I get tired of tons of emails too. 😡
December 30, 2007 at 10:48 pm #650973He had lots of fun with the desk, didn’t he!! 😆 After that, fixing the forum problem should be a “snap”, no pun intended!!! 😆

Such a time doesn’t exist.
Think about it. A crisis in my mail server is what made me post here today.
Now I have to go back to finishing the form validation in my online payment acceptance script. I’ve been a webhoster for 5 years and I still don’t have that running. 😡

I know you never have enough time, but nonetheless you are missed very much..
BTW, early Happy Birthday!!!

You forget that we had a lengthy discussion about how complex it would be to reprogram the forum code to make that happen.
I quoted that thread since it contained that lengthy discussion. 😉
That discussion is why I put in my previous post the workaround that I was using.
December 31, 2007 at 12:47 am #650977For me personally, the use of the feature that sends me an email to any topics I am watching that has new posts, is annoying as all get out. I do understand the appeal of it, but it isnt for me and I do not use it. So, at least I am one less.
December 31, 2007 at 10:33 pm #650978AnonymousSo I managed to sweet talk myself out of Verizon’s bad books but now I see there’s a backlog of @yahoo.com email in my mail queue. 👿
December 31, 2007 at 10:36 pm #650979I hope that doesn’t mean the same problem with yahoo. 😕
December 31, 2007 at 10:38 pm #650980Re: your post in Announcements… Christmas Cheer does not lend itself well to propagation to anyone in the IT field, as it is largely a thankless, behind-the-scenes up-at-3am-while-the-boss-is-on-vacation type of job quite often…. 👿
Best wishes Snap.

My art: featherdust.comDecember 31, 2007 at 10:42 pm #650981AnonymousYahoo blacklists our entire datacenter a lot. Not just me, but all the companies that reside there. Then NOC deals with it. They call them up, swear, threaten… then Yahoo tells them to send them mail logs to prove they are not spammers. It’s a common BS tactic they use to get rid of you. So two weeks ago one of the NOC guys actually mailed them about 30 GB of mail logs. Oh yeah they loved that, they de-listed us too. They’re not going to actually look at the logs…
It’s just the nature of the beast, so many spammers attack them, so they’re real sensitive on what gets flagged as a spam source.
