Sorry to burst your bubble, but Dragon61 and I have actually received a broken lap in its fitted box. Apparently if they are not seated perfectly, they can shift and one of the horns snapped off, taking off the upper part of the eyelid.
Ouch 🙁
I know lots of people are quite good about being able to ship without original boxes as well.. I was super thankful for the people who I bought my emp from, as they didn’t have his cardboard inserts… they packed him tight enough ‘n double boxed him into a huge box, so he showed up safe n sound! I’m always nervous after seeing horror stories show up on forum!
I sure am holding my breath now!
My Sunrise didn’t arrive today, thank you USPS, but it looks like they will both be here tomorrow, so fingers very very crossed!
The Emperors seem to have the most breakage, I’ve seen some REALLY smashed up Emps, and for some reason a lot of smashed up males. Poor things! The repair jobs are amazing though!
They are here! Sunrise is perfect (Thank you Dracco! You’re a peach!) but my ruby, not so much. Arrived with a chip on her nose, and didn’t have original box. I LOVE the color though and am now looking for a ruby Old Warrior! I think the color will be PERFECT on him!
My poor bashed Ruby. She’s hiding her face in shame of her chipped nose.

Your very welcome ! I always take great care in packing Windstones. Sorry about the Ruby lap……..Kinda wierd it was a small chip like that though . I mean, to me makes me think it was there prior to boxing it up and not caused during delivery because it was JUST a chip but i could be wrong.

Agreed. I contacted the seller and I’m getting a bit of a refund, so it should all work out. But it was not mentioned and I was pretty surprised!
For some reason, the nostrils often tend to chip on the Laps, a little bit of paint and it should hardly be noticeable.

I agree with dracco, I’m thinkin the chip was pre-packed damage… but if the seller has been working with you, at least you have that going for you 🙂

They are working with me, I asked for 50 because I figured that would cover the shipping back and forth and the repair, and it is a pretty small and easy fix, it’s just the shipping that is killer!
I could NOT be happier with the lap, I love everything about the sculpt and the personality they have are just lovely. I think the laps and the scratchers are my fave sculpts. Sassy and regal!

I love her! I still have her (obviously from the picture) and cannot wait to get an Old Warrior to balance her out display-wise. We’ve decided on a Ruby OW!

Thanks! I love his ratio of blue to purple. Some of the peacocks have too much purple in them for my liking, but I love how his colors are balanced

I love how purply he is! My Mother is much more blue, but the mother is also hiding her tummy so there’s less purple anyways. Your fella is just so stunning!
