I’m trying to brace myself because I keep thinking I’ll NEVER afford even one of these griffins, then I keep hoping in the back of my mind…..well……….MAYBE I can. I think I’m just trying to make myself feel better though. LOL! I think they are going to go for bunches more then Arlla thinks they are 😉
So for fun I thought I’d ask everyone their predictions to show Arlla just what we think these beauties are going to go for! So what do you think?
I’m guessing around $1850-$2000 per adult and maybe $800-$875 per baby! 😉 I bet the Snow Leopard will go for over $2500 though! *cause that’s the one I really want* hahaha!

I want a chicky, but I know I won’t be able to afford one. I will be putting my bid in though if I see them early enough
June 25, 2008 at 2:25 am #717622I’m sure you’re right, drag0n. In a way, that’s better for me: seeing something go shooting up to three times what I could afford is less painful than seeing it go for only one and a half times what I could afford. I guess I’d rather feel like I didn’t have a snowball’s chance than I missed my chance. 😛 (That “missed chance” thing has happened to me three times now with the tabby cats. :()
June 25, 2008 at 2:27 am #717623Considering Jenn’s Sun Griffon went for $3600+, I am expecting the snow leopard to go at least that high.
So I’d see if I could find $4K somewhere if you want to be sure to get it.
Though with the economy going downhill like it is, you might get lucky and get it for less, but I wouldn’t bet anything significant on it.
Me, I’ll never be able to afford one, but I am sooooo glad I got on Arlla’s list for the tigers when I did, really I am, at least I will still get a special Windstone from one of the elite painters.

June 25, 2008 at 2:28 am #717624I bet your predictions are close. They are all amazing pieces of art. I justify it to myself that you can’t put a price on art. What one person would pay thousands for another wouldn’t give it a dime. I have some friends who just dont see what we do in Windstones. Like my CP Secret Keeper for example, I think she is so beautiful and some of the people who come over say she creeps them out lol.
June 25, 2008 at 2:33 am #717625My guess;
$1500-$2000 for the adults (ie maybe a tad lower then Drag0n) and probably $750-$800 for the chicks. These are Arlla’s first griffins on ebay right?
Either way, I can’t afford any of them 😛 but I can hope and dream and realize I can never afford them.

Yep, that’s exactly the way I feel.

I think he was a fluke, and also the first special griffin to ever go up for bid. None of my others have done so well. You’ll note that the first special OWs that went up were among the highest bid pieces in Windstone’s history. I think one of the black golds broke over $4k. And those were an edition. We don’t see prices of OOAKs even approach that these days.
I hope for Arlla’s sake that you are right though!

-J R R TolkienJune 25, 2008 at 4:29 am #717631Im gonna guess $1600 for the male and about $6-800 for the babies. 🙂
June 25, 2008 at 5:30 am #717632Ski’s guess sounds reasonable to me. I sure am curious, though.
June 25, 2008 at 10:22 am #717633“Waaaaay out of my price range” is my guess. 😆 They’ll be worth every penny, though. 😀
