Who was harsh about him? Or rather, how were they harsh? He looks great.
October 29, 2007 at 9:47 am #629451Nope, no one compared him to Voltaire…I was getting a lot of help on a model horse sculpting forum – there was one person there in particular who was really giving me great critiques and anatomy help. But the last time I posted pics of his progress, that person said some very rude things in an altogether harsh critique (which I thought was very strange as I hadn’t changed much on Alex since his last critique!) He also made the first suggestion for his anatomy that I disagreed with (from what I could see in my horse anatomy books) so I argued that point…and then people were telling me that I shouldn’t ask for advice and then complain about the advice I get, which I felt was very unfair as I had followed every single suggestion given to me up to that point…
*sigh*
Anyway, it was a combination of a few elements, and my confidence was very shaken.I’m really glad you all want to see him finished! 😀 I do too!! Let’s see if I can’t have another go on him after I finish these griffins….

October 29, 2007 at 12:36 pm #629453That’s awful that you were treated so harshly. I definately would loooove to see him done, I really like the draft breeds. 😀
November 3, 2007 at 6:28 am #629454Beautiful Arlla, He’s so wonderful looking!
June 11, 2008 at 11:34 pm #629455😀 So Arlla, since now you work at Windstone…I guess you don’t have much time for this guy? Or is he done?
Sits here wishing… 🙄
June 11, 2008 at 11:35 pm #629456Have you finished him yet? Inquiring minds want to know! *squirms impatiently in seat*

June 12, 2008 at 4:21 pm #629458He’s beautiful! Awesome job on the legs and and feathers. 😀
June 12, 2008 at 8:13 pm #629459……..
……..
*shame* he is STILL…sitting on my desk, very patiently waiting to be finished. T____T He traveled with us to Oregon in the front seat of our car and has been, as always, one of the things I’ve been really meaning to get to. I’m moving again shortly, and I can tell ya right now that he’ll get put off again until we’re settled in. T___T

-J R R TolkienJune 12, 2008 at 8:27 pm #629460I still say whoever gave you harsh feedback needs to be hit over the head with a trout. He is wonderful! I really do want to own him when you finish him. Pleeeeeeeeeeeease finish him? Although if you don’t finish him right away it’s okay, I’ll probably be broke until the Halloween rush hits. 🙁
June 12, 2008 at 9:26 pm #629461I can’t wait to see him complete. Yes, moving would definitely come first 😛
June 12, 2008 at 9:29 pm #629462I think he’s amazing. 😀
June 13, 2008 at 2:13 am #629463His head seems a little bit big to me, but that might just be me…
*shrugs*
I think he looks great, better then I could ever do!
Pleeeease tell me that’s not what they were telling you…June 13, 2008 at 5:37 am #629464That’s just because he’s got a Roman nose. His head is the right size. 😉
