I think you need to get ultrasound/CAT scan/ whatever as soon as possible too actually SEE what it is. If it’s getting that big that fast, be it appendicitis, ovarian cyst, whatever it needs to be GONE.
My mom had her appendix burst when she was young and almost died. She had peritonitis a couple years ago (herniated/twisted stomach burst), cause may be different but she still spent 3 months in the hospital’ 3 weeks ICU and wasn’t expected to live at first. Don’t think it would be any different if it were appendix bursting.
Though I must admit I had appendicitis as a kid and it resolved on its own before the surgery, still have my appendix over 35 years later and no problems

Yikes! My appendicitis ‘experience’ consisted of about 24 hours of mild to moderate discomfort and waiting around – it started right after dinner one Saturday and felt like indigestion, so by the time I realized it wasn’t going to resolve it was the middle of the night and, being now wee hours of Sunday, I had to wait until 1pm for the clinic to open, then wait around at the clinic, then get sent to the hospital for ‘just in case’ xrays, then wait an hour for the contrast to get to the right place, then get the xray and wait until it was developed and read. Then the surgeon appeared and said ‘If you need to call anyone, do it now. We’re taking you into surgery immediately.’ And sure enough, I was checked in and in preop within twenty-five minutes. Mine didn’t quite rupture, but it was close enough to earn me and extra day in the hospital.

I have no idea what my bloodwork showed, but I did not have the ‘standard’ diagnostic sign of rebound pain. The doctor told me that he didn’t think it was appendicitis, but he just didn’t feel comfortable sending me home to sit on it, so he sent me for xrays. The films apparently were VERY diagnostic.

LOL @ Thrippa- yeah, they didn’t think mine was appendicitis at first because it was on the left side- turns out my intestines twist wrong and that’s where mine is. They were accusing me of just trying to get out of school until they saw the bloodwork and X-rays.

So yesterday we were going to take her to her appointment, but she all the sudden got very painful sharp pains on the right side, so we rushed to the E.R. again.

Her blood work did not show anything, that is clean. The urine sample was clean too..But they also did a Ultrasound this time and found that she had a 3×3 cm cyst on her right overie. So she probably had more and they were bursting! That would make sense because the night before last, she had this pudge to her stomach the size of a golf ball.(I teased her it was an Alien baby head)

She is feeling a LOT better now that she knows the pains she was feeling was not her appendix being a time bomb. She has to schedule another appointment though, with a regulare Doc, to keep track of the cyst and make sure they go away like they are supposed to. Now for the bills.

We will keep an eye on her any way. Just in case. 🙂

Whew, what a relief they were able to find out what’s going on! Hope she feels better soon. 🙂

Well the cyst does not explain her throwing up/diarrhea that happened two weeks ago, but at least this is better then her appendix bursting.

It might explain the throwing up, though. A burst cyst is incredibly painful, believe me!

This is a bit of relief!!!! We were all thinking that her appendix was going to burst any moment!!! 😮 Still the ovarian cycst is painful. I remember years back a woman where I worked was rushed off to the hospital because she suddenly doubled over at her desk. It was a cycst that burst. No fun and yes, being in a lot of pain can make you throw up! But I was really looking forward to the ‘alien baby’! 😆

Oh yeah! The body will react in many ways to pain, and I believe both vomiting and diarrhea can happen when the body tries to deal with pain.

Yes  Been there, done that, rode the ride, got the t-shirt, never again! Reaction to pain stimuli often includes those symptoms; it’s as if your body is getting conflicting signals and finally just says ‘this is how I’m gonna deal with this’… and different people react differently to the same stimuli. Good to hear you’re feeling better

Except when we first took her to the E.R. when she was throwing up, she was not having really bad sharp pains. Just something that felt like gass and went away after the diarrhea started.
If she had been in bad pain that night like she was in the car, there would have been no waiting till morning to take her to the hospital.
