Ohh that would freak me right out…I get small spiders in my house and I hate it, I can’t imagine ever seeing a big one I would die… 😕

Please say it’s not native to the US. (I mean that particular species, the one in the photo. I already know that the things we called sun spiders, or “HOLY FRICK WHAT IS THAT?!” are indeed native to the US. But even sun spiders aren’t as squicky as the critter in that photo! :P)
And for what it’s worth, I try to live and let live and all that, but if I saw a spider-ish thing like that I would go and find my shovel. Wham! 😈
no they are only in the Middle east and africa
October 12, 2008 at 6:42 pm #735966AHAHAHAHAHAH This made me laugh till I cried!

Read the story attached it’s amusing.
(Don’t worry those spiders are in Africa)
October 13, 2008 at 12:25 am #735967. . . I’ll just avoid taking any trips to Africa or the Middle East until someone invents personal force fields, then . . . . And Nirvanacat, the photo of the whonking enormous spider sprawled across that kid’s hands has me wondering about the kid’s parents, big time. 😯
October 13, 2008 at 5:17 am #735968EEEEEEEEEEK! I hope they get rid of them before I visit 😯 I’m petrified of large spiders! 😯 *shudders*
Terminex is wrong that they aren’t from this part of the country. There was a local correctional facility north of me that made it in the papers for having an infestation of them (inmates were getting pretty bad spider bites). They did a whole front page Sunday article on them in one of the local papers about 2-3 years ago. They are DEFINITELY in this part of the country and this is the time of year that little critters start moving to seek out warm places to hunker down for the winter. The northeast is fair game for them (they aren’t as common as further south, but they are by no means rare either).
October 13, 2008 at 7:39 am #735969Dude, Nirvana! I found all the pictures quite interesting until the last one. Yech! I like spiders – from a distance. 😕

😯 😯 😯 Thats going to make me a little paranoid when I go to bed tonight. As a rule, I don’t usually kill spiders I find in my house. Most are harmless not to mention tiny, but a black widow – yikes. I would have done the same.
October 14, 2008 at 5:18 am #735974That is one h… of a big spider Necron…It gave me chills and they are not goig away after like what 5 minutes already!? And my feet are now off the floor and I still have to get to bed and forget I saw this picture. 🙄 😆
Now that is what I call a spider! 😀
October 14, 2008 at 7:55 am #735975More spider love! Third one is a Brown Recluse…big one too…

There are some really strange arachnids in there. Looking at the photos is fun, but the more I look, the more relieved I get we don’t have those kind of big critters wandering around here. 😕
