Yea, the griffins are the ones that take a while. I think the longest so far was the one I did for Keplily. That one broke about 30 hours I think. *phew* It came out alot better then the other brown one I did.

The wolves have been keeing me pretty busy for a while too, but I think I’ve been doing them in shorter sittings so maybe it just seems that way??

30 hrs is long time! I think GB said that she spent 35 hours on her last griffin too…it really sounds like the griffins are the most time consuming.

Water said the wolves went a lot faster for her, and took about 13 hours…everyone else also seems to be saying that the wolves are easier…

I know, but the way I blend it really hard to do on all these tiny feathers. The wolf itself isn’t the problem it’s the wings that are troubling me. I think I am just too picky and I keep trying to make it flawless in such a tiny area. I need an airbrush. That’s my next big purchase if I ever get the money together.

Yeah, it sounds like an airbrush would be perfect for you. Though your blending already looks like it was done with an airbrush! 🙂

Taking so long is a small wonder when each feather is done individually – although I’m beginning to think I’m a slow and finicky painter.

Must get rather damp in the summer. 😆

😆 As long as nobody’s rushing me, it’s fun to put on so much detail. Start in the morning, listen to a couple audiobooks and then look up to realize it suddenly six p.m….

I brought one of my griffins to the flea market I work weekends at just to test and see the what people would say. (It was the brown one with the dark brown near the eye in my gallery actually) I put a sign that said “sample, taking custom comissions” and the highest offer I got was 25 dollars. When I told them the sculpture cost 40 just to get most either laughed and said good luck getting THAT price OR just rolled their eyes and told me I was a scam artist. Watergazer’s explained the situation very well in other topics. Art is a tough buisness.

Pathetic. Nobody appreciates real unique handiwork anymore.

He may have taken a while but he looks great! I love that griff!

While hiding somewhere in my head I'm on the lookout for white oriental dragons! Please let me know if you know of any available. Thank you!

Summer can still be cold around here. It snowed in May a few times.

But what happens to your igloo in July? I guess you don’t have to worry about air conditioning…no walls.. 😈

In July? Well then it’s warm and you don’t need the igloo to protect you from the wind then. Silly.

I guess your gf doesn’t come to visit you that often. No privacy. 😆

I see. You just need the igloo to protect you from the wind. Aren’t igloos supposed to be cozy? 8)
