January 9, 2007 at 3:53 am #524826yup! in little rhody! one block from the ocean, that is as close to the coast as you want to get!! i’m from upstate n.y. originally, catskill mountain/hudson river valley region, but i’m here in rhode island for now. 😛 it sucks, there are no windstones here!! people in general stink here; very non-artistic and unappreciative of hand made things! i have never seen anything like it anywhere, and professional artists that made the mistake of moving here were shocked by it. they were like, i was able to support myself on my own, buy a big house, fancy car, etc. where i used to live and when i moved here NOTHING sold with these people and i went bankrupt!! wow! i’ll go back to n.y. or mass. soon though. 🙂 yippee!

I go to Anime Boston every year. It’s in Boston (obviously) and actually coming up in just a few months! SQUEE! I hope to make it to one of the furry conventions SPark is attending this year, but if funds don’t get a little better soon I may not be able to afford the trip. BAH!

I’d jump up and down and scream “YES! COME TO MASS WITH MEEEEEEE!!!!” ….but nobody appreciates art here either. My mother and I had a ceramics business once upon a time and the fizzled out BIGTIME! I made more money wholesaleing cheap (very crappy workmanship cheap)things from catalogs and reselling them at a profit. Like dreamcatchers, mandellas, and porcelian dolls. Now I just paint for ebay and this forum. Everyone else (around here anyway) wants something for nothing, when you think of the time put into it something you can barely make minimum wage.
I brought one of my griffins to the flea market I work weekends at just to test and see the what people would say. (It was the brown one with the dark brown near the eye in my gallery actually) I put a sign that said “sample, taking custom comissions” and the highest offer I got was 25 dollars. When I told them the sculpture cost 40 just to get most either laughed and said good luck getting THAT price OR just rolled their eyes and told me I was a scam artist. Watergazer’s explained the situation very well in other topics. Art is a tough buisness.

I want an OOAK Devious Dragon. We talked about commissions before, I think he’ll make a nice one. 😀

I had somebody tell me that my Loonakits were a scam! They WOULD NOT believe me that I wasn’t raking in the dough making them! I explained how long it takes me to make one, and how much materials cost, but he wouldn’t believe me.
January 9, 2007 at 6:04 am #524832Yea, Snap, that was like a Phoenix one right? Or was is kind of like the Blue one? (I love my blue one) That’s the only one so far I know I will never sell.
As far at the plushies SPark, now that I paid for the stuff for my fursuit I made, I know how expensive materials can get! Alot of people just don’t understand. I thought your prices were really reasonable!

I have been telling my husband and 8 year old son for years now NOT TO THROW A FOOTBALL INSIDE THE HOUSE!!!!!!! 😯 😯 Yep, you guessed it; they broke something, a freakin window!!!**fumes** 😡 **paces**
Anyway, after my 13 year old just lost his PlayStation Portable that he got for Christmas last week, I am just a bit frazzled!!! I know I spend alot on Windstones (they are sooooo worth it), but that darn game was really expensive! And he didn’t even have it two weeks! 😥 Please forgive my rant, I just had to vent for a minute!!!
**deep breath** I feel better now. Thanks for listening. 😀
Anyway, I will try to get caught up by tomorrow evening, but I miss so many posts because they are so many to read! Have a good one!
Blessings,
Goldragon2!
January 9, 2007 at 6:18 am #524834Ugh, I’d be fuming and pacing too! 🙂 I hope they’ve learned their lesson about throwing footballs in the house now.
But how did your son manage to lose a Playstation??
January 9, 2007 at 6:22 am #524835Well, at least window is cheaper to replace then a Windstone *trying to make good of a bad situation*
Loosing a PSP though, I’d be pretty heated about that one. Mimi, they are like the game boy for Sony. The look like the old style hand held sega game gear kind of. I know they aren’t cheap! I bought my boyfriend one for his birthday last year and after tax and a warrenty it was in the 300 dollar range. BAH! Chances are when he lost it there was a game in it too so theres another 40 or 50 bucks!
Hopefully loosing it taught him a lesson to be more responsible…well, at least with loosng things and not breaking windows. 😆Got a busted Windstone?

But dang, that’s as bad as losing a limited production OW!
January 9, 2007 at 6:59 am #524837Yea, I ended up scoring one for just 50 bucks for myself when my movie store closed. I got it for 60%off and then I got a 40% employee discount on top of that =) YAY!
