Great! 🙄 Make sure all your kitties are inside.
April 17, 2007 at 12:31 am #562729That looks like what my place had back in January with the ice storm, except ours was part of a tree and a whole powerpole (which I had been standing next to about 30 seconds before). I think it should go a bit to the left though dragon. Remind me never to ask you to trim any hedges 😉
Just the cable going in and out most of the day. LOTS of flooding. I drove home from Syracuse, NY yesterday morning and there were lots of people off the road (at least one fatal – the blue tarp was over the crushed front of an overturned car). One caravan about 2 vehicles ahead of me went spiralling across the three lane northway (I-87) driving home. It wasn’t a fun day to be on the road. By the time I left for work today, most the slush had melted away, but one major road south of me is closed (flooding from the Hudson… not too uncommon with this much water), and at least one road I drove to work on I am not taking home because it was up to the side of the road driving in. It will be over the road driving home. My aunt and uncle now have a very large duck pond for a backyard (and ducks actually dropped by today to test it out!).
One place south of me is evacuating people because the flooding. North of me got 8-14 inches of snow. Honestly, the flooding isn’t as bad as last June though when the Catskills and my brother got hammered. Knocked out I-88 in a section straight across that had to be totally rebuilt. That kind of flooding is unheard of in this area.
Is it spring yet?
April 17, 2007 at 1:33 am #562730How’s it going Drag0n? Any more damage? 😕
April 17, 2007 at 3:38 am #562731There is some of that wood trim stuff (like that intertwining basket weaved looking wood, I forget the name) That is totally missing from under our porch, but I think other then that no more damage. The city came down and cut the tree in half so we could get out of the driveway and they cleaned the debris out of the street & piled it all on the lawn. Since it fell on “our property” it’s our problem to dispose of.
My mother is already basically guilting us in pitching in to take the rest of the tree down and helping pay for getting rid of the half that fell.
The funny part is, now it looks like we live in a beaver damn. 😆 I’ll have to take another pic in the morning.Got a busted Windstone?

Dam beavers…. 😆
April 19, 2007 at 9:25 pm #562739Our driveway washed away, a good 3 feet of it. Mu husband had to make a bridge out of extra railroad ties just to get my durango over it!! It took a dumptruck of gravel and a monster tractor on tank tracks to fix it. We were without power from Monday morning around 8:00 to Wed @ 1:00am ish, then it went back off around 10:00. Our house was 50 degrees!! Other then that, nothing happended up here on our hill, but all around us roads were washed out, trees down and bridges gone…Our kids have been out of school all week, the school still doesn’t have a phone…I think now tho most of our roads are open again and all the power lines are back up, thank goodness!!
April 19, 2007 at 11:31 pm #562740What a mess!!! I’m glad things are getting back to normal. 🙂
