I do not have it. But they thought I did at one point. I went a month thinking I had it. It kinda scared me. So I know what you are going through. I know the treatments now for controling it are much better..and its wonderful you caught it early. You are going to be just fine! 🙂

Thank you guys for all that, and the cake flowers, lol. It’s just like I’ve got one thing happening after another. I have had blood tests done before…why wasn’t it caught then? Maybe because it appears and goes away? The doctor said it could be something like that and that my immune system from all that has happened to me may have just sparked up with it from the clotting or something, because I know back in the ER they tested me for lupus but I came up neative at that time, but since then my body has been on blood thinners and having various other reactions so maybe the lupus just sorta popped up. I don’t know.

Does that mean I can’t donate blood now, I wonder? What about being an organ donor? I have to look into this now too because I’ve been an organ donor and finally have reached my weight limits in order to donate blood. I know that sounds silly but for the longest time I’ve wanted to do it and give back to the community but wasn’t within the weight range. Now I am and might not be able to…I gotta check.

I’d like to add my “I’m sorry!” to the growing pile, I really hope things go well for you dealing with this condition, I don’t have it myself. Best of luck!

Sorry to hear you have another medical concern. I can’t even pretend to know what you are going through. I wish you all the best.

While I don’t have lupus, I know how you feel intimately. I have suffered from autoimmune disorders since birth, and sadly, despite myriad blood tests for the last few decades, I still don’t know what I have. Could be rheumatoid arthritis, lupus, lyme disease, or anything really… I am currently being tested for hemochromatosis as it runs in the family apparently (just found out a month or so ago).

I know how it feels… when your body has outpaced you in age and you feel like you’ll never catch up. The pain, the exhaustion, never having enough energy for everything you want to do on a daily basis (never mind the long term goals… getting out of bed can be difficult enough).

I suppose finally knowing what you have can be seen as a good thing; now that you know, you don’t have to worry about what dire things may or may not be wrong. You at least know what to do to alleviate your symptoms, even if it means having to be a pill-popper for life, and adjusting your lifestyle. With any luck, you’ll be able to push the envelope (in terms of what projects you’re up to undertaking) a little more once you start to get it under control.

My best wishes are with you, and I hope you begin to feel better soon. Don’t let it overwhelm you, and take heart in knowing there’s plenty who care about your well-being.

You guys are all so sweet and understands…many thanks. One thing Digit and Nam…lyme disease? Isn’t there a cure for that? What does that deal with and how do you get it? A friend of mine’s dog had it but it went away or was “cured” I guess. If it means joint pain, I feel for you! It makes art 10 times harder I’m sure. I hope my own lupus doesn’t become that way over time.

I thought so too… regarding a cure for lyme disease that is. You have to treat it quickly before permanent damage is done though, I think. Perhaps that’s what Nam meant by having it? It can be tricky to treat though too, I think.

Exhaustion and pain are just some of the symptoms. It’s a real nasty too from what I’ve read. I don’t ever recall having the telltale bullseye mark from any infected deer tick bites, so I don’t really think it’s my issue. I should get tested though, I guess; spent years in places with a heavy deer tick population. That is, to answer your question, pretty much the main way of contracting Lyme disease.

All I can say is, having a body that attacks itself really sucks! Doesn’t it know that’s not good for it?? Honestly…

Lyme’s very controvercial. Some doctors will say that if caught early and hit hard with antibiotics, you’re cured. Some say that it stays with you forever. It’s true that many people are treated and never see another symptom again… but there are some that have reoccuring symptoms their entire life. They’re still learning about Lyme and I think it just effects different people differently. I’m part of several Lyme communities and we are always finding new things about the disease. I was bit by a tick and tested positive for Lyme when I was 12. After lingering joint pain I was tested again some time later and still tested positive. It’s possible I was bitten again and didn’t know it, but my doctor was of the opinion that I had it before I was tested the first time and it may will be with me forever. At least I don’t have the more serious symptoms- I just feel arthritic and achey very often!
