When we had the Alberti print line we spent allot of time driving up and down the West Coast delivering them to stores. We hunted for the best place to be, and Corvallis is pretty close to our ideal. However, we didn’t know how difficult it would be to move a business there when we bought our land. The city of Corvallis seems to discourage buisnesses from starting there. They are very anti growth.Ironically, this is one reason we love it.
We’ve given up trying to build on our land for now, so we are working on buying a building that is already there. It isn’t the right size… but I don’t care, just get me out of here!I’ll visit when you guys are all set in Oregon (and I’m all set in my new home…)! I have no real desire to see CA but Oregon sounds pretty and green.
O: you must see the red wood coast line Nam! that is where I am going. it is so completely different from the rest of california, and is a lot more like oregon. It is lush and green and full of animal life…but it rains a LOT and is a fog belt(some people do not like that type of wheather..but I love it)

The avenue of th eRedwoods is amazing!! My sister attended Humbolt State and we drove her to school every year and stayed in the Redwoods. I wish that little resort was still thereSeptember 14, 2007 at 11:25 pm #616524Dragon Master wrote:KoishiiKitty wrote:Nambroth wrote:Melody wrote:Tintaglia wrote:Is there a reason that you chose Oregon, rather than somewhere else in California?

North of there, just out of Cresent city by 5 miles there are the Tree’s of Mystery walk through grove where some of the redwoods have grown into amazing growths! they have some awesome trails up there i want to explore and an observation deck where you can look across the gove all the way to the ocean. the special thing about the observation deck is that it is situated to be able to observe Raptor nests.
Next time I go I want to find out what whales pass buy and if any come through the bay…and if there are any local resident or transiant killer whales. I know the great whites patrole the coastline up there and will even swing into the rivers after salmon during the salmon run.

September 15, 2007 at 1:35 am #616529So, Melody, when you’re ready to move, are you going to have a moving sale? Surely you don’t want to move any more sculptures than you have too, right? 😀

Just because the ads show up on Craigslist doesn’t mean that they are still active. The ad for the dragon I got off Craigslist still shows up and it’s been deleted.
One of the ads that I saw was for an admin. In the ad it said they all wear many hats. At work, I sometimes joke that I’m going to put a tree in my office and hang all the hats I wear on it. I just think their business would very interesting to work in and I’ve found that it’s more enjoyable working for a smaller company than a large one.
And I just get a chuckle at the last comment in the ad that says cat allergies would not be a good thing. 😀
