I’m just not happy about being treated condescendingly.
When I asked what SG was, you could have said “well, it’s not appropriate for children, so I don’t want to say.” I would have been quite happy with that answer.
Refusing to give a straight answer just ticked me off.
But that’s just me. Everyone else here seems to think you’re just fine, so don’t let me chase you off if you want to stay.
I do say what I think though, and I’m not going to stop saying what I think if it offends folks.
P.S. What does SG have to do with Masons? If you were just trying to spare the children, WHY did you pretend that it was like the Masonic order?
It was a bad analogy. The Mason thing.
and it’s not about being run off it’s about continuing something I tryed to retract 2 days ago,
the thread ran off like the ‘Energizer Bunny”.January 28, 2007 at 12:38 am #532747Art Slinger wrote:the thread ran off like the ‘Energizer Bunny”.
all of our threads run off like the energizer bunny…that’s actually normal around here.
January 28, 2007 at 1:11 am #532748This has been a strange thread…all I can say is that the Windstone forum is not a good prospect for finding people interested in SG and that kind of thing…

The real deal is that I’ve found SG members interested in Windstone Editions and I’m trying to figure out if I should send them here. So far my best prospect wanted a direct link, when I just gave the address, it seemed too much trouble for them to key it in. (that’s pretty lazy). So I blew them off.
January 28, 2007 at 5:00 am #532750Well, anyone who likes Windstones is definitely welcome to join the forum. Is there some reason you don’t want to just give the link to whichever people are interested?
January 28, 2007 at 5:21 am #532751The last time I posted on this thread was page 2, now it’s on page 7. After reading all the posts, I’m not sure what to think.
SPark, I have to agree with the way you feel. I feel it’s somewhat immature. Also, the point that was brought up by another member that it was an adverstising ploy – well, that’s bad (if it’s true – sounding like it was from a couple of posts). I’m glad I learned something new, but I wish I understood the intentions of Art Slinger. Are you just using us as a marketing group, or do you want to discuss info about Windstones as a collector and a possible business partner with Windstone?
I wish you the best of luck, but as for me, please be more upfront. I don’t like feeling that there is something shady going on.

The Shade is on your mind.
I didn’t give the link because I’m not as proficient as you with this box.
You obviously are not into the occult at least deeply or anything pertaining to the Major Arcana. All the good stuff is always hidden. Ask Leonardo Da vinci.January 28, 2007 at 6:50 am #532753May I hijack this thread? Mimi, whippet, emerald, Ski – did you guys all make your own Windstone signature pics? Or is one person making these? They’re really neat.

Whippet did all of them for us! She did an awesome job. 😀
Here’s the thread.
January 28, 2007 at 6:58 am #532756Thanks!
January 28, 2007 at 9:30 am #532757Well, I dont appreciate the advertising when your sales pitch is supposed to be intriguing and comes off as condescending and scattered. And SG is an art company now? Im confused. If you want folks to join, just come right out and say it, so we can come right out and say “No.” That’ll end the ranting, dont you think? And our reactions are over the top? Whatev.

Compatability is something I’m looking for.
A few weeks ago I brought a business deal to John, I’d thought he was maybe interested in an art company that prodused objects of art using the same materials and molding process. Both companies Windstone Editions need a boost in sales, I thought the two of them would make a good combination.
———————————————–I’m curious – does this other company have a website we can check out, or is everything “hush hush”, pending John’s approval? Windstones may be our common denominator, but many different sites and artists have been introduced and discussed here. As you’ve already experienced, we are an opinionated bunch – you can expect reviews from A+ to F- and everything in between.

Good work, you’ve defused the “Bomb”, I shouldn’t have left it.
But my,” Dragon” was feeling a bit playfull.January 28, 2007 at 8:42 pm #532760This whole thread is hilarious! Of course, when i first saw SG, my automatic thought was “Savage Garden?” but that’s just because we use SG the same way LOL
And now the grand secret has been revealed and people have gone a little overboard on both sides of this thread and hopefully we’ve gotten it out of our system. Because I can appreciate that Art Slinger was aware that there might be children here and was trying to be cautious but instead phrased things in a way that made it a big ol’ Soopersekcrit Group. I think it all could have been avoided by being open about what the acryonym MEANT but also just sticking to polite, verbal descriptions of the group. Then again, the SG is very big on how awesome they are and how special they are so it’s not terribly surprising that perhaps writing in that manner has become a habit for those involved in the group *chuckle*
I love their fashions, the girls are generally full of cool hair and cool tattoos/peircings but after watching them on CSI:NY it became very clear that they consider themselves pretty much better than normal folk. Is that good or bad? Hard to say. But it CAN and in this instance HAS put people’s backs up and perhaps those associated with SG should think about that before post about SG and before they get too upset about that sort of response to that manner of self-promotion. It’s a matter of action and reaction, really.
