Ditto. And I am almost positive that that is not the type of thing this community here would frequent. We are not the shredding type, either.
Agreed on both counts! SG looks like the kind of site that Chessie and Vantid have to keep deleting…

You’re welcome! I’d never heard of them either. It looks like Wikipedia really has everything. 🙂
January 27, 2007 at 7:09 pm #532734OOOOO Do I get a cookie for knowing!?!
January 27, 2007 at 7:13 pm #532735You get two! 🙂
I’m curious, how did you happen to hear about SG?

I am totally into Tattoos. I want to be a Tattoo artist more than anything…but I can’t find a teacher. So I read as much as I can until that magic day happens. So anyway a lot of SGs are into Tats. And that is how I first heard of them. Never been to the website though…not my scene. There are not really any FAT SGs. ha!

…………………..You know I had about five of my friends suggest that this “great secret” was Suicide Girls, and I said NO WAY! Because they are NOT A SECRET!!!!!!! They’re not Masons. Anybody can join. I could walk over there and sign up right this second!!!! They flipping ADVERTISE! They WANT new people. They are not a secret society! I’ve been to their page, I’ve read articles there, I’ve poked around in their forums before, and they’re just like any other forum out there.
WTF? There’s no rule about not talking about suicide girls! There’s no reason we couldn’t discuss the site here. There’s no secret. They’re nothing like Masons! It’s just a trendy site, using half-naked chicks to advertise, like most trendy sites do. that’s all.
SPARE MY SANITY?!!!! From WHAT? There’s not one single flipping thing on that site that’s sanity damaging! If you can’t stand half-naked girls, you need to go crawl into a cave in Tibet! Am I suposed to flee screaming from pink text and articles about movie stars?
January 27, 2007 at 9:15 pm #532738I have to agree – it’s not very “underground”. My daughter painted the SG logo on a sweatshirt for her friend for Christmas. I wonder if his Mom knows he is looking at half-naked girls… 😆
January 27, 2007 at 9:23 pm #532739Ahhh, I would have never guessed Suicide Girls. Whatever. I do know about that and I do know about Masons, etc. But, no worries. This will get forgotten soon enough.
January 27, 2007 at 10:03 pm #532740Here is my guess:
Maybe Art Slinger is advertising for them? Are you? By coming on this forum and intriguing inquisitive people to get more interest in SG by acting like it is something secretive and special. You even try to keep interest in the subject going by occasionally posting vague information about it or responding to threads about it. After gaining people’s curiosity you eventually posted about how awesome SG is (or you think it is) by mentioning its one of the largest communities, hundreds of boards, its been on TV, etc, etc. Even stating its not for minors in capitals (which always attracts minors) and has been branded porno (for any closet porno junkies on this forum). You’re constantly daring people to check it out; continuously warning us readers so we’d be interested enough to check out what it is really like at SG.
I don’t know, seems like a ploy to me to gain interest into the website. Several people now know about it that might not have. I don’t think it worked well, but I guess it is more effective than the Spam bots.
Isn’t this one of the tactics used for advertising the Blair Witch Project on college forums?
And if you didn’t intentionally come here to advertise for them, you just did. Good job?…
January 27, 2007 at 10:08 pm #532741Ha.
If it was advertising, it backfired in my case. I mean… I already knew about it, and had no interest. Was pretty indifferent to it even. But they do have those Will Wheaton colums, and the thought had passed through my head that maybe I should visit more often to read those, at least.
Now I’m just annoyed. There’s no way on earth I’d join up there now, Will Wheaton or not!
January 27, 2007 at 11:34 pm #532742Yes I am trying to advertise;….Windstone.
Compatability is something I’m looking for.
A few weeks ago I brought a business deal to John, I’d thought he was maybe interested in an art company that prodused objects of art using the same materials and molding process. Both companies Windstone Editions need a boost in sales, I thought the two of them would make a good combination.
———————————————–
I actually suspected that there were children on this site, as far as exposure to things beyond which may be socialy acceptable. I very much want to see Windstone and my friend’s company survive.
I need to more effectively draw on the Windstone audience to expand our stores collection to it’s maximum.
———I’ve been clumsey at this, but the reactions are I think a bit over the top.
I am now abandoning this probe, as I really do think that nothing I say or do will work with this group now. I shall keep my communications primarily
with Melody from now on.
————————-Ok , go back to your rants.January 27, 2007 at 11:44 pm #532743Don’t go….please give the forum a second chance…and yes you were right about children accessing the site. Anyone who loves Windstone is welcome here…
January 27, 2007 at 11:48 pm #532744I’m just not happy about being treated condescendingly.
When I asked what SG was, you could have said “well, it’s not appropriate for children, so I don’t want to say.” I would have been quite happy with that answer.
Refusing to give a straight answer just ticked me off.
But that’s just me. Everyone else here seems to think you’re just fine, so don’t let me chase you off if you want to stay.
I do say what I think though, and I’m not going to stop saying what I think if it offends folks.
P.S. What does SG have to do with Masons? If you were just trying to spare the children, WHY did you pretend that it was like the Masonic order?

“Clumsey” would not have been my first choice in words. Anyways, good luck and I hope things work out for you and your business.
Although, SG should pay you a stipend for all the free advertising you are giving them in this thread.
