Lokie, that’s a really strange and eerie experience! But are you saying that your sister couldn’t hear this ghost for some reason?
I’m think she probably could have, but she sleeps like a rock throughout the night (She still does, its impressive, and she gets angry if her sleep is disturbed). So I don’t really know if she couldn’t hear it versus whether she just never had the opportunity to because of the way she sleeps.
On one occasion, I woke my sister up and turned on the lights (big mistake) to let her hear it (I didn’t tell her what to listen for) but by that time the sound stopped. Usually, once the ghost walked in my room (after he stomped around the rest of the apartment for awhile) and went up to my bed, he usually was silent the remainder of the night. Only a few times did I actually hear him “leaving” my room to roam the rest of the apartment.

When my cat JouJou died I caught glimpses of him out of the corner of my eye for weeks, too. It was close to when I was moving out, so my husband said to leave room in a box and tell him to hop in and come with me. Maybe he listened and is my present ghost kitty:)
Sounds like a distinct possibility. And, I was never afraid of my dog’s ghost. To be honest, I was glad to see her. 🙁

*sigh* I know what you mean about being glad to see her. I sure hope JouJou came with me. The house we moved out of is empty most of the time (summer home for the new owners). I wouldn’t want him to be lonely. Yeah, I know I sound kooky – it’s ok. lol

I know what you mean. I still miss our family dog who died many years ago, and I wish she would come and visit me. 🙂
January 29, 2007 at 1:35 am #532795You mean you aren’t haunted by weresquirrels??? 😆

That is actually something that would scare me, seeing my deceased pet.
It would definitely be interesting if you could capture those voices on tape, lamortefille.

Not yet! And those I wouldn’t mind. 😀

Definitely! That’s a really good idea. I’m suspecting that lamortefille would be able to record those voices, since that would be consistent with the physical manifestations she’s seeing, like things getting moved.

I think so too. I thought I typed it out but I don’t see the post, so sorry if I’m repeating myself. You can buy tape recorders that have functions that tend to pick up different types of sounds. For instance, I have one that can be programmed to only start recording if it hears the types of sound I set, such as background noise, low sound, or only sound being directed to the recorder. This way, Lamortefille doesn’t have to waste tons of tape trying to get voices. Although, it might be a problem with the animals setting it off 😕
So I guess that wouldn’t work…
January 29, 2007 at 3:29 am #532800That’s a neat idea, at any rate. I didn’t know they had recorders like that — I’ll keep them in mind in case I ever need one.
January 29, 2007 at 4:30 am #532801I have never seen a ghost and dont think I believe in them at all… Who knows. I really hope I never se one. Lokie, that would have had me peeing the bed every night. Well, maybe not when I was a kid. 😯
January 29, 2007 at 5:55 am #532802Bunch of cool stories! Since a buying a book about ghost-hunting in English castles, I’ve been interested in ghost stories. Some of the stories on ghost-hunter sites are easy to pass off, but I wouldn’t try to explain Lokie’s.
I don’t have a problem believing in ghosts. I believe in the Holy Ghost – I’m sure there are plenty of unholy ones out there.January 29, 2007 at 9:58 am #532803My mom insists she has seen ghosts, and who (Besides me and Drag0n:) is gonna call their mom a liar?? I just think she is a little eccentric. Maybe looney, since to be eccentric, you have to be rich. I really wish I could experience what some of you have so I can believe, too. I meet cool people and then they say they have seen ghosts, and it just makes me question them a little.

I didn’t mind seeing my dog’s ghost, although it was rather eerie at the time. But I don’t think I’d want any of the other experiences we’ve heard about here. 😯
January 29, 2007 at 3:22 pm #532805I have a couple of ghost stories for you too.
About 15 years ago I was seeing a guy who lived in an old Victorian house in St. Paul, MN. It had been divided into apartments and he shared a bathroom with the whole top floor. There was an art studio between his room and the bathroom, so I had to walk through this at night to use the toilet, and back. On the way back I got the distinct impression that someone was glaring at me with hate. I thought maybe 1)I was imagining it or 2)one of his neighbors was angry at having to wait for the bathroom. After I got in bed, next to Andy, I felt someone crawl in bed between us and hands on my back trying to push me out of bed. I turned my head around to see if it was Andy and he had his back to me. In the morning, I told Andy about this and he showed me the book “Haunted Heartland” where this exact house was written up for being haunted by a ghost of a maid that had committed suicide after becoming pregnant by the man of the house and being rejected. Apparently she developed a thing for Andy and would do this to any girlfriend he had. She hung herself in the area that had become the art studio.
