vantid, Hellsing Ultimate just came out on DVD! It’s the first OVA it’s the retelling of the story, but in the same style as the manga. It moves along alot more quickly and is actually a little funny. I’m so glad they got the whole voice cast back for it too. I definately reccommend it for you guys if you liked Hellsing =D
hehe, thanks Kep. Feel free to add to my list! LOL

Tempting, but if I made a list of all the anime I have/seen I think it would take a few days. Expecially if I included descriptions! I like your reccomendations a lot though. Those are very good choices.
Hmmm..some quick reccomendations.
Magic Knights Rayearth: 3 girls pulled to another world from Tokyo tower. They are to become Magic Knights and rescue the princess.Ah My Goddess: A guy calls the wrong number and reaches the goddess hotline and a goddess first class shows up to fulfill his wish.
Pretear: Hikaru must save this world with the help of the lefe knights.
Escaflowne: Hitomi travels to another world and must help Price Van save his kingdom.
Full Moon Wo Sagashite: A young girl with a throat illness learns she is going to die and wants to fulfill her dream to become a singer.
Guyver: (I’ve heard this one called a Japanese version of Superman.) Sho encounters what is known as a guyver unit that turns him into a guyver that the Chronos corporation wants to control. It is a little bloody but I would recommend the manga before the anime right now. Although it is being redone for rerelease.
Slayers: Lina Inverse, sorceress supreme!
I’m going to quit for now. The dogs are barking up a storm. Goodness I have a lot of anime…and in case you can’t tell I’m not that great at writing descriptions. Think I’ll leave it to Dragon.
While hiding somewhere in my head I'm on the lookout for white oriental dragons! Please let me know if you know of any available. Thank you!
January 7, 2007 at 1:23 am #523832You know I have the whole series of Ah My Goddess and still have yet to watch it! LOL! Slayers was pretty funny.

SQEEEEEE!!! Crispin Freeman (the english voice actor for Alucard in Hellsing)!!!! God I love that man..I go to his panels at anime expo, if only to listen to him talk…
…..what do you mean I sound like one of those creepy fan girls…? *shifty eyes*
The new Hellsing OAVs are pretty awesome. I liked the series too, though. But the OAVs are way better if only because they have Natzis – they make THE BEST villans. Just look at the Indiana Jones movies. I love being able to root for vampires.
Dude – the fight with the blond brother in the second OAV was SOO KICK A$$. 😯"He that breaks a thing to find out what it is has left the path of wisdom."

Can’t get into Ah My Goddess…I have all of Samurai 7 waiting for me, I just havn’t gotten around to watching it yet…anyone seen it?

Hey, nearly ALL of the Miyazaki movies are priceless classics. I think my favorite is Spirited Away…Princess Mononoke and Howl’s Moving Castle (SUPER AWESOME BOOK, as well as an animated movie) tie for second I think. I also really like The Cat Returns. ^_^ I watch it when I need cheering up.
I definitely highly recomend any Miyazaki movies – though many of them may be a little scary for young kids. I can see Spirited Away and Princess Mononoke being pretty traumatic for sensitive kids.
OOOOH I can’t wait till his next one…based on the Wizard of Earthsea…mmm…

-J R R TolkienJanuary 7, 2007 at 3:34 am #523836WHAT?! Miyazaki is doing an Earthsea movie? Have I died and gone to heaven without noticing? Is there information about this anywhere?
January 7, 2007 at 3:42 am #523837P.S. I think Full Metal is only 51 episodes long…unless I’m missing a whole bunch…
And has anyone mentioned Chobits?? It’s a weird series with lots of sexual overtones, but despite that it’s so bloody CUTE and sweet and funny…
And after just having watched Fruits Basket again, I have to say that EVERYONE SHOULD SEE IT!! I really hope they make more episodes…Last I heard they were going to, but I’m not sure what happened with that.

This is all I know about it…
Edit: Here’s a better article in Wikipedia – 🙁 looks like the Sci-Fi channel won’t let us get it here until 2009 due to them holding the copyrights on it…blah.

hmmm…don’t know why the link doesn’t work. just copy pasta it I guess…sorry. It’s a decent article though."He that breaks a thing to find out what it is has left the path of wisdom."
-J R R TolkienJanuary 7, 2007 at 4:25 am #523839That sucks. (From what I hear, so did their version of it.)
But man…. if you’d asked me to pick somebody to make Earthsea into a movie, I couldn’t have picked anybody better than Miyazaki. Even if it looks like some things got changed a lot, it also looks like the best bits are still there, and done just right.
January 7, 2007 at 6:02 am #523840Hmmmm…maybe FullMetal was 52 and not 82….I actually think you are right! Yea, I’m almost positive you are.
Oh, Chobits…that series was alright. It was really cute, but if I heard her say Chi one more time I was gonna hit her! LOL! Though Lucy constantly says Nyu for like the first 3 or 4 episodes in Elfen Lied.
I LOVE Fruits Basket 😀 That’s my most favorite comedy/romance series ever. I heart Kyo <3 <3 and Yuki too *swoon*
I heard lots of good stuff about Samurai 7, but I just can’t get into alot of mecha. I’m trying to push my way through Eureka 7 right now and I really want it to start making sense soon….*grumble*
Don’t you hate it when you see the fist few episodes and it seems really awesome, then as you get through it is really sucks…like ALOT! Samurai Deeper Kyo was like that. *sigh*
I heard James Cameron was supposed to be directing a Battle Angel Alita live action movie for 2009, but I can’t find anything online about it. Just something I read in Newtype a few months ago.
