I met a dog who belonged to two small boys aged five and six. Their dog’s name was Dirtwar. I also know a cat named Pooper; his last name sounds just like “colon”. And there’s a dog named Dammit Derf. And a black Cocker spaniel named Snowball. My mom had two classroom rats named Snickle and Fritz.

I have a chicken named Millicent the Magnificent and another named Osa (short for “One-Spur Andy”). There are also two blue Andalusian roosters, brothers, named Jake and Elwood. And two speckled Sussex hens named Dot and Dash. From a neighbor I got a hen named Little: she’s an Old English Games hen no bigger than a pigeon. I used to have four rooster brothers named Burl, Earl, Pearl, and Loo. My peacock is named Pod, and my two peahens are Pea and Mihoshi the Idiot. The desert tortoises are Gamera and Matanga. Our cat is Mister K, or Cat in Black, or K-san depending on his mood. Our crippled Polish chick may end up with the name Crash-Thud if it doesn’t learn how to walk soon. 😛 (I’m very fond of that chick and am seriously contemplating making it a special pet . . . not that our other chickens are anything but pets! 😆 )

My husband’s brother had a pit mix named “phat boy”

working at a vet’s office, I have encountered many strange names…keep in mind that they are all real names for these dogs…

        a pomeranian named “booger”
        an english bulldog named “plopper”
a pit named “boss hog”—the best I think
a pair of dachunds (sp?) one named “limp” and the other named “shaft” (i’m not joking)
and a boston terrier named “G-funk”

Can’t forget about the 4 yorkies named Fred, Lucy, Ricky, and Ethel…I love Lucy characters for those who don’t know….

My most wanted list: carnelian mouse wizard, copper patina frog wizard, autumn leaf poads, pumpkin spice kitties

We all know you have a lot of animals, but which one has the most weird or funny name?

for example…I once met two cats..both orange and white, they were brother and sister…and named Macaroni and Cheese. Because they were always hanging out together. 😆 oh gad, none compare with “furburger”! Thats the best. We have a duck that my son named when he was very little, around three. I suggested he name her something to do with water, so he named her “Fish Tank” we call her “Tank”.

we had an orange striped tabby male cat once. once with a gruff meow and motor of a pur.

his name was for short, Marks.
the full name was Sir Marksalot.

                  like sir Lancelot.

he lived up to his name.

G-funk is awesome! 😀 I have a boston terrier, who lives with my mom, named Deuce.
My husband wants to name our next dog “lunchmeat” for some reason. I had to talk him out of naming our current dog that. I really don’t get him sometimes. 🙄

Now I am thinking of several funny names of animals we’ve had; a big old rooster named “Bagpipe”,
a cockatiel named “Chicken Burrito”, actually I had a whole dynasty of them since this male taught all of his children to say “Chicken Burrito” too. “Time to go feed the chicken burritos”
We’ve had many goldfish named “Muskrat”. I loved that name, but we retired it when it proved to be bad luck for the goldfishes.
I had a squirrel named “Hurricane”, then got a second squirrel that was named “Sugarcane” because I had hoped she would of been sweeter tempered.
I had two black rats named “Skull” and “Rattle”, Skull had a white marking on her stomach that looked like a horned demon skull.
My female bearded dragon is named “Blubber Chops”, sigh …horrible names like that always stick.

I have three cats one of which is named ‘Beast’. It was mostly a joke because when we got him he was the runt of the litter and hid for the first week we had him. In spite of his humble start he has ‘grown’ into his name quite well 😆 . He’s big and fat but a total love-bug. My other kitties are Lily and Suzy. Not as strange name-wise, well at least not as strange as some of the names I’ve read in this thread 🙂

I had two American Pied Light Green Peach Faced Lovebirds. They were named “Patience” and “Fortitude” (quick, anyone else know where the name combo comes from?). They were not very patient. Firey little devils who drew blood whenever they got the chance! My mom got them for me because she thought they were pretty (dad and I couldn’t convince her otherwise – she is obviously not knowledgeable on birds… my brother got a fish tank with tetras and goldfish ). She wouldn’t let me train them properly either and I have doubts that they were hand-raised (she got them from a pet store), so pretty much twarted any hope that I could ever get them trained to sit on my hand and be congenial 😕 They also refused to eat any veggies or fruit that they are supposed to eat. Oh, how I wish she had just let me choose! I would have gotten a hand-raised conure or something!

One died under mysterious circumstances (it just was found the next morning, dead in the bottom of their cage, no sign of illness – I’ve been told since by a lovebird breeder that this isn’t unheard of and could be any number of things). The other died a year, almost to the day as the other (I think from loneliness as they were a true pair – the second one acted a little depressed after the other one died).
