guys, I have been in an epic battle of my own against the craving for eating unhealthy stuff and gaining weight, my knees have been killing me, it’s like … a horrible battle of will against will (yearn for food vs the yearn of fitting in the nice wardrobe I used to have and not having to rest my knees so often during the day), when I started this i used to be 106 kilos ( a little over 212 pounds) I fought an epic battle and now I am 10 kilos (20 pounds) lighter….
but I need more, I just need to fit in clothes that they sell in the “normal size” stores, (one of the heartbreaking moments that I had when feeling depressed and bad for my weight was when an employee of a store looked at me with a look of disgust and told me that they didn’t sell the big sizes, and then I wasn’t so big, just not superslim,) I need to loose weight,
so now I ask of you that you show me patience when I am posting either smileys or the green vomiting smiley depending on if I am doing good or bad
so round two begins tomorrow…. wish me luck 8)
May 10, 2010 at 10:38 pm #814670Good luck! 🙂

Me three…. oi. Misery loves company?
May 11, 2010 at 3:01 am #814673Hey, you’re not alone in fighting this battle! I think there is more than one of us trying to eat and live healthier and have that chocolate chip cookie calling your name round midnight! 🙄 What I try to do is not eat when I’m not hungry–sometimes we stuff things in our mouths out of boredom or simply because it’s there. I also limit the sweet stuff I bring home from grocery shopping–no sodas, cinnamon rolls, cakes, pies etc. I allow myself to eat these things when I go to someone’s house but when they offer that I can take some home–I simply don’t.
It’s not always easy–I don’t weight myself because it would be too depressing. I know that I have lost some weight by how my clothes fit. Hey those pants aren’t as tight as they once were. Oh, and not eating after 7pm helps!
So you’ll have plenty of company and lots and lots of support! 🙂
May 11, 2010 at 4:40 am #814674Yup, fighting and not winning. I’ve been trying to lose 30 pounds for my wedding but it ain’t going to happen. Found out that my anti-depressants are what caused my weight gain and the main reason why I can’t lose weight even with exercising everyday (apparently, the exercising is just keeping my weight stable). So, it’s either stay cubby and mostly sane or skinny and suicidal… 🙄
May 11, 2010 at 6:16 am #814675Good luck!!!
May 11, 2010 at 10:12 am #814676thanks guys
and yes… misery loves company, if needed we could use this as a CA support chat (Candyaddicts Anon.)
my brother is a personal trainer, and he intends to keep me focused and I could forward his advices to those who need it 😀
May 11, 2010 at 5:41 pm #814677Good luck! And I could use some support, too. I’ve been trying to lose a few pounds and have been sidetracked at least once a week for months. Grr. I totally understand.
May 12, 2010 at 1:17 am #814678Diets are really the devil’s handiwork. Unless you are with a “class” style where they keep track of everything you eat, and you can’t get away from big brother’s eyes.
In August of 2000 I weighed in at 230lbs. I hated having my pic taken at family functions, and who doesn’t want pics when you’re at Christmas? NO ONE! I wore a size 18 in jeans (Long before they began putting the 2% spandex in the hipster jeans.) and when I graduated highschool I weighed 115, and wore a size 5. I have always had wide shoulders, but a smaller waist.
Currently I weigh 150-155 with fluctuations up and down between those numbers. I weigh every day before showering, and never miss a day. I don’t eat perfectly, as I love my soda!!! I can drink diet, but prefer regular and fully leaded. I am a Dr. Pepper fanatic! I drink 3 or 4 a day. Caffeine and sugar are my enemies.
I have however, in the past few months, dropped from 165-170 to the 150-155, simply by changing my diet a small bit.
I prefer chicken and fish. I cook them in many ways, even skin on. Once a week I eat beef, usually a rib eye, and I don’t throw away anything from that steak. I stopped eating fried foods. Once in a while I allow myslf an egg roll, or some rangoons, but otherwise, I really don’t miss it. Fires, yeah, I miss those once in a while but I do like oven fries, so that makes up for it. 🙂 I do eat pastas and rice, but I limit myself on it. I eat breakfast around 3 hours after waking, and I eat supper 4 hours prior to bed time. Since unless it’s up at 7am everyday for school, hours of waking and retiring fluctuate widely. So, I shoot for certain amount of hours. Myself, I do not wake up hungry and it takes me a while to get hungry. 😕 Don’t know why. I do have snacks during the day, but most consist of say a slice of cheese and maybe a few carrot sticks or something of the sort.
I guess what I am trying to say, is each person’s body works so differently than anothers, that what works for some might not work for others. I met a woman who ate nothing but hard candies for a month. She was very mobile, and lost weight. I would be a walking pimple and 300lbs. I already know this from when I was young. I also was an emotional eater too at the heaviest times. I try not to do that now. I go for a walk instead. No food on the sidewalk here. 😉May 12, 2010 at 10:03 am #814679Good Luck BroS!
May 12, 2010 at 4:43 pm #814680I like what WC said–we’re all different and our bodies will react to different things. I personally hate diets–it’s die with a ‘t’! 😆 The one thing I keep hearing from people who are trying to lose weight is moderation. You don’t have to cut out your favorite chocolates or ice cream or sodas and such but limit them and not make a meal out of them. That way you don’t feel you’re in that dungeon of never eating anything that tastes good! I feel that’s why a lot of diets don’t work–too restricting and people have developed these bad habits and they’re hard to break.
So the best to you and keep us posted!
May 12, 2010 at 6:15 pm #814681I agree Lady…moderation. That’s what I try to do. Have a couple of chips or cookies for a treat and really taste and enjoy them, instead of scarfing down a whole bag. lol! It’s easier for me to say no to “junk”, though. My real loves are things like pasta, pizza, burgers, etc. I try to eat light and healthy during the week and treat myself to small portions of those foods on my weekend. I’m losing weight slowly, but surely.
lol @ “No food on the sidewalk here”, WC. I can’t even imagine eating nothing but hard candies for any length of time. That’s quite a diet! Gak!
