No, not at the moment. There are so many different breeds I love…
My dream is to have two “blue” great danes. I love Old English Bulldogs. Pit bulls are beautiful animals, but I wouldn’t want one with my kids in the house. I really like the Bernese. Wolfhounds are impressive as well. Collies are beautiful, but all that hair! I love so many different breeds, I don’t know what we’ll end up with. We’ll probably just go to the pound and get a mutt!
If I’m not careful, I’ll end up with one of each!February 10, 2007 at 6:57 am #534996I like all the ones you mentioned too. I was in love with collies for the longest time – until we got our Belgian. Her hair is only half as long as a collie’s and it’s still a frightful nuisance to take care of. So when I bought my dog, one must-have was short hair.
February 10, 2007 at 7:07 am #534997That’s one of the reasons I like the Danes. Can’t get much shorter than that!
Though, I hear they shed a lot.February 10, 2007 at 7:36 am #534998Phoenix wrote:

Though, I hear they shed a lot. You’re right. They are as bad as Boxers. And Boxers shed all the time. Though there is one advantage, if you can call it that, to long hair. It just lies on the furniture. Making for “easy” clean-up. The short hair from Boxers, and Danes too, most likely, is just stiff enough to get in the fibers of the upholstery. But I love Boxers anyway. They are pretty much my favorite dog.
February 10, 2007 at 7:37 am #534999I am getting a Bovier at some point, they can be either short or long, depending how you shave them, the best of all worlds 😀 .

February 10, 2007 at 12:02 pm #535002Trust me all short haired dogs shed twice as much as long haired. If you don’t want much shedding get a curly haired dog, or something like a shnauzer, cairn, or westie. Curly coated dogs still shed, but it gets trapped in the curl. Some terriers have to get the undercoats hand stripped or plucked. So they don’t shed much. I’ve heard that afgans don’t shed much either. Instead they matt all to heck.

Actually, the forum does have a spell check — when you’re typing the message, any misspelled words will be underlined with little red dots.
But there’s no grammar check though…

I noticed this just recently. Is it a new development? Before, I would have to plop words into my email to check them. lol
February 10, 2007 at 8:11 pm #535005I think it might be pretty recent. I don’t remember seeing that feature when the forum first started.
February 10, 2007 at 8:13 pm #535006I have never seen it until it was just mentioned
February 12, 2007 at 10:32 am #535007YAY for spell sheck!!! Im glad your pup is ok, GB!! I didn’t see any red underline, though…
February 12, 2007 at 5:41 pm #535008I’m not seeing any little red dots…and lord knows I’ve mispelled stuff…..
February 12, 2007 at 5:48 pm #535009Hmmm… I thought that was a feature of the new version of firefox. I’m not sure it belongs to the forum, because I’m getting my red dots other places now too, where I didn’t used to before.
