Ummm… expensive? Average home cost in Calgary is $350,000 last I checked 😀
November 5, 2008 at 6:13 am #738730Politics is a dirty business, and the only people who get into it are the ones who have extra time on their hands to mind other peoples’ matters. Necessary evil, of course, in this case, no matter who won, it would have been the wrong guy. (My opinion.)
I’m very much looking forward to seeing what all Mr. Barack Hussein Obama will actually change.November 5, 2008 at 6:49 am #738731I for one, am happy and relieved about this result.
And for those displeased, there is a silver lining for everyone in the end to political ads.
I would reply to multiple things, but I’ve found online debate to be as productive as nailing 2″x4″s together with Jello.
I have also noticed (in multiple areas and fields) that the nastier a statement is, the more grains of salt need to be taken with it.
November 5, 2008 at 8:24 am #738732im thrilled obama won, one reason (know it sounds stupid to most)is now our wildlife has a chance and wont be butchered AS badly as if mccain and that joke palin won (remember..theyw anted to wipe out all the wolves..that for one is not something i approve of)
November 5, 2008 at 1:15 pm #738733I don’t think I would care so much since I know they were both bad picks. But I know there were alot of people who voted for Obama for the wrong reason and thats what has me upset.
November 5, 2008 at 1:23 pm #738734You’ve made history. Good for you, and him. I’ll stay neutral on this one, and hope that all the bad things out there about him are just rumors. I can say this for sure, he has a large amount of work on his hands. So, I wish him luck he will need it.

maybe if we get a plot of land and make like a compound 😛
November 5, 2008 at 1:57 pm #738736I’m very glad Obama won. I do remember the nice economy we had when Clinton was President. I hope Obama brings that back for us. The republican path was heading us in the wrong direction.
And I would be very scared for the country if McCain had won and died in office. I think Sarah Palin, while an interesting woman, just isn’t ready for that office (or vice-president either for that matter). I, too, was afraid of the ideas she would have for the country.
November 5, 2008 at 2:12 pm #738737I may not have voted for Obama, but he won fair and square. He’s now my President and I’ll stand behind him. 🙂 (unless he does something illegal, then no, but that would be with any President 🙄 )Frozen is right tho, Bill Clinton was a good President, he just got caught with his zipper down. 😉

LOL! Well, all that proves is he was a real American man! 😆
Without bringing up the “racism” topic, I guess nobody can throw America’s terrible past in our faces anymore. 😉

Oh man…. I’m sorry, but Sarah Palin is a freaking moron! I would be terrified to think what the woman would do as president!

no one seems to remember that the last Democrat in the White House actually balanced the budget, there was no national debt.. and everyone had money in their pockets..
then since the Dems have had control over the house and senate over the last couple years , where is the balance they can veto anything the president brings to the table ( im no lover of Bush ) . The Clinton administration was almost cut in half with Dems and Reps in the house and Senate with a few more on the Rep side . Why shouldn’t i be disappointed my guy lost and i do know a thing or two about politics
general observation about America as a whole not knowing enough about American politics…
and you do have every right to be disappointed your guy didn’t win..
and I do agree a more even split in Congress would be good.. but we just have to hope they can make good decisions…
also we have to hope the new president makes good decisions as well…

😆 And that’s part of why I got out and voted because as my husband says, “If you don’t vote, then you don’t have any right to complain.”
November 5, 2008 at 2:43 pm #738742The only thing that scares me about Obama is his actions. He won’t lay his hand over his heart during the National Anthem, and he is meeting with terrorist leaders. That scares me. I wanted a president who was dedicated enough to this country to show his support for it. Barack Obama scares me, and it’s not his political plans that scare me. It’s him.
If it was McCain that was doing this, I would have voted for the other guy, but it’s Obama. -
