A local cat rescue that I work with (Cat House on the Kings) is having a fall open house in which they raffle off items to earn money for the rescue. One of the ladies that works there wanted to know if I could paint a PYO Keeper and donate it to them so that they could raffle it. I said I didn’t know the legalities of it and would ask….anyone know if I am allowed to paint one and donate it?
October 9, 2011 at 7:56 pm #859500Yes you can do that . Others have . Thats not a problem .
You can paint and give them and sell them or donate them to charity .
Read what it says under raffles here . If you win a raffle , you can donate it to charity . So it’s ok .
Your doing it to help someone . And thats great . Especially if it’s animals who need help .October 9, 2011 at 8:18 pm #859503I knew that about raffles, but I didn’t know about something I would paint myself…just thought I would ask 🙂
October 9, 2011 at 8:28 pm #859504Yes, people have done this before and it’s always a wonderful gesture! I don’t think there are any rules against it at all unless you are repainting a sculpture that is not meant to be repainted, per Windstone policy. A PYO is perfectly fine though. ^_^ I’m very happy you are doing it! Anything thoughtful that benefits animals always makes me happy! Just make sure whoever ends up with it knows Melody didn’t paint it or something like that.
Got a busted Windstone?

October 9, 2011 at 9:27 pm #859509Oh yeah i would make sure i stayed till the end of the raffles so that they could meet me, or I could enclose a letter explaining everything in case i don’t feel well enough to stay. The open house is like 5-6 hours long…and now that I have gestational diabetes, plus very anemic…I don’tknow that I would last the whole time. If I wrote a letter I could always include contact info for me as well in case they have any concerns.
lol Cat House does rule! they are the whole reason we were able to do what we do here with the cats and huskies. I love everyone there, and was very honored to be asked to come up with something. I thought hey if i can get a peice to go for even 100 that is helping. I am excited!
October 9, 2011 at 10:21 pm #859511I also sent one of the Sable Husky Candle lamps to Chuck who runs Husky Camp in LA. I wanted to get her something to help her feel better about losing Autumn’s siblings. She hasn’t gotten it yet, but I know she will love it. Husky stuff is so hard to find, and have it look that beautiful…I couldn’t resist. She does so much for the huskies in CA, she rocks too 🙂 If this works for Cat House I am going to paint a pyo wolf for Husky Camp for their next event 🙂

art auctions are always a throw up on how they will go. Don’t feel bad i’m sure you did a fantastic job.
October 29, 2011 at 10:36 pm #861237well either way, it’s 38 bucks cat house didn’t have before so it went to a good cause. And I introduced myself to the lady who bought it. She was getting it for her daughter for christmas, so I hope the daughter will like it.

I just checked her out in the gallery, you did a beautiful job on her!
But dragons are just not for everyone I’m afraid.
Seeing as this certainly attracted cat lovers, a cat pyo would likely have done better, sadly there’s none available yet.
