fake…just look at the wings…they seem off to me 😕
I agree they seem too small for the head and body attached to them.
And they are, it seems… smudgy looking? Like they were broken off and re sculpted poorly.
June 18, 2008 at 10:20 pm #715468Anybody has a male dragon and could take a picture of it in the same angle as this one?
I just compared hi with Nirvanacat brown male and they look identical exept for the eyes, the wings are the same.
June 18, 2008 at 10:38 pm #715469This work?
June 18, 2008 at 10:39 pm #715470I think the real test would be the bottom…I assume that’s what you asked, BDW?
June 18, 2008 at 10:43 pm #715471June 18, 2008 at 10:47 pm #715472I overlayed the BG male over the white, and I think it’s genuine…or else a very good fake.
Switching back and forth between the layers I couldn’t see much difference between the two, other than the eyes.
I know they’re not lined up exactly – I had to shrink the BG and tilt it a bit, but it’s close. 😀
June 18, 2008 at 10:54 pm #715473There are a lot of fakes out there that are nearly identical, except for tiny details, the eyes, and the felt pad. People just cast off the original sculpture.

*nods* Well, maybe it’s a fake, then. *waits quietly for more information*
June 18, 2008 at 11:04 pm #715475Maybe they just painted the eyes. The real test I would think would be the weight
June 18, 2008 at 11:09 pm #715476Thank for the picture. I think it’s real the wings all match.

I asked if it had a felt with the company name and if PENA was anywhere on the tail near the bottom.
June 19, 2008 at 3:28 am #715477The chin and head look off to me. It looks kinda like the chin is touching the neck and the wings look odd. The eyes really freak me out…yikes.

It seems weird that everything on those pics seems to line up perfectly except the head.
June 19, 2008 at 2:58 pm #715479Looks like a fake to me too. Someone could have just cast from an original statue, and then glued those hideous eyes on. I’ve seen some similar things pop up on Ebay from time to time. It doesn’t seem likely to me that someone would hack out and replace the eyes from a real piece, with such poor-looking results! It’s also possible that somebody glued the eyes over the real ones, and that’s why it’s so bug-eyed. We’ll see I guess, if folks have been asking questions!
Forever seeking: Blackwatch the raffle Old Warrior, Jennifer Miller's pieces, and GB Baby unis!
June 19, 2008 at 3:18 pm #715480Ok got a responce from the seller about the felt pad and the name PENA of the dragon:
Well he probably did at one time, but like I was saying on Craigslist, the white one has been altered. I believe he used to be the “green male” but he has been painted to be a white with gold. He is a Windstone Edition but for some reason the person who gave it to me didn’t want it to be green anymore and decided to change him. The other one is in perfect condition, not changed at all.
I did just check and it does say Pena on the tail like you asked. Thanks again.I’ll send this to John and see what he thinks.
