Well, we are *almost* done with the house and move. A few more baseboards to paint, countertops to arrive, movers to schedule, and voila! It has been a HARD road and I’m so pleased with how everything has come out. So, soon I’ll be back amongst the community, with paint brush in hand!!

April 30, 2008 at 3:32 pm #694339Was it an initial relief/breather to paint baseboards and not worry about detail? Or was it just a drag? (I recently volunteered to paint railings, and it was nice to be mindless at first, but it was a chore before the end.)

April 30, 2008 at 8:16 pm #694342of the detailed painting, like cutting in along the ceiling and painting all the trim, hubby has done that. He painted houses professionally for years, so he is good at that stuff, and I stink at it. I did the patching nail holes, sanding, caulking of the trim and I cut in the rest of the walls and did about half the actual rolling. It worked out well, I did a better job on the cailking then Jim could, my fingers are smaller, and he can cut in a ceiling like a friggin’ robot. The trim work was where all the time was. You wouldn’t think that, but when you go into an unfinished house that needs complete paint, you have to look close. And you start to see all the nail holes, every 16 inches on the trim, all the seems that need caulk, all the smudges and crap stuck everywhere from construction….All those things you don’t think about when you go into a finished house. It’s been fun and hard at the same time. What’s the hardest is sitting here in this cave of my inlaws when I want to be living in my new house. It’s SO hard for me to be patient. The countertops didn’t come in this week like they were supposed too and I would just like to scream at someone and MAKE them deliver my stuff tomorrow. but, ofcourse, thats not reality nor productive…so I just have to wait….
yes, pictures will follow SOON, as soon as I get countertops that is!! 😉
