Good to know that although on the back burner, there is a plan to get secret keepers back on track and available for purchase. 🙂
It has been my dream to get an SK one day! I may have to wait for the ‘lighter’ ones whenever that happens. Can’t imagine trying to lift these things–definitely can’t put one on my glass coffee table! Someday–and I only want one so I want it to be a color I really, really like! 😀

I’m secretly kind of glad to hear they’re not in the immediate future (but I’m bummed that I can’t afford that one on Ebay!) — I have no job right now and can’t afford so much as a Fledgling, much less an SK, so I’d just have to miss out if they were imminent!
I desperately want a White SK, though, to complete (well, almost — also need that White RSpectral!) my White collection! So I’m keeping my fingers crossed that eventually I’ll be able to get one… 🙂

Sorry to bump the thread, but I figured I’d let you all know how the auction went.
The auction ended at $466 (:o), but the reserve wasn’t met, so I guess the dragon didn’t get sold. He did have a few chips on him, but I was very astounded that the bidding was so low. I wonder what the reserve was? Maybe $500 or even $1000?
He might pop up again in the future if anyone is still interested in getting him. Anyway, I guess that’s all there is to say, but I thought I’d let everyone know regardless. 🙂
Wow, I’m surprised it didn’t sell either! There are a number of members on the forum that can do flawless repairs. They do such detail oriented work that you wouldn’t even know it was originally damaged. Usually SK’s are snatched up pretty quickly, regardless of damage.
I’ll tell you guys the truth. I was the high bidder when it ended, but I don’t think there’s any way in hell I won it for that price. I don’t think I won it at all infact because everything is all red and I got a sorry email from ebay. I sent tc a message about it, but I haven’t heard back. 😕 I’d love to fix it up like new! It would have been an awesome deal, but I would assume the reserve is set at LEAST at $800 or more. Way more then I can afford. I really could barely afford what I bid, but I couldn’t just let a deal like that slip away. 😳 It will probably be reslisted with a buy it now or something.

There was only 10 of them and the cheapest one went for $962 (average price of nearly $1,500). Windstone’s lowest prices on these even in the store for limited production was what.. $850? Even with a few scuffs and rubs (the SK here has rubs on her horns too.. they are just a normal ‘wear spot’ during shipping.. she weighs a TON) it would pain me to see someone devalue this special piece. The sad truth is that right now most people just don’t have too much extra income to spend..!!

I think that is really what it comes down to. Being that there are no breaks, chips, or real damage that should cause a good drop in the value. Those rubs are superficial. If I did have more spending money on hand, I would have put a couple more hundred into my bid.

I agree. All around that is the reoccurring theme… “I know it’s worth a lot and I want to buy it but cannot”. I still have friends that are foreclosing on their homes or that have been out of work for almost 2 years now (and have been trying their darndest to get a job anywhere)…

She said she might relist it though, so someone might still be able to get it at some point… if they want it bad enough.

I’m wondering more about the wearing and oil stain on the certificate?
they only made 10 white ones EVER so they are VERY rare
I do have to say I wish I had waited on the Spring Green I might have gotten a later one for less money
so far the reviews have been beyond AWESOME
I know she is heavy and I picked up all 3 of mine in person when the factory was in Hollywood but I think I would worry more about shipping then anything else
I have always thought $850 for the 3 production pieces seemes like a deal but maybe that was more becasue the e-bay aucion ones ended so high compared to those
