It has been a while, but I figured I’d start sculpting again. Here is one of my completed sculptures. She doesn’t have a name, but she’s meant to be a large herbivore. It occurred to me after the fact she is colored a lot like the Na’vi. Totally unintended.
I gave this big girl several ‘false’ eyes. They are designed to scare off and/or confuse predators. Just like how butterflies and moths have eye-spots on their wings to freak out hungry birds. I intend to write up a fact sheet of this creature, explaining it’s habitat, behaviors and so on. I used to do that for a lot of my creature concepts. I’m not very good at story telling, but I love creating new and unique species.
March 20, 2012 at 2:59 am #876946OOOOO!! I love it! Like I would take that and show it off in my collection love it. I don’t find it very avatar looking. It’s anatomy looks natural and works visualy but it absolutely looks alien. Gads I love your stuff. One of these days I’ll find a way to get ahold of one of your sculpts.

March 20, 2012 at 5:50 am #876951I think she looks incredible!!! Not only is she immaculately sculpted, but she’s painted so beautifully as well! I think you’re filled with impeccable talent and imagination. 😀
